Chapter 35

After the classes in college ended the girl came straight to Vaish and Jaan's house because Anu wanted to tell them something but she didn't want to talk at her house. They sat in Vaish's room comfortably. Anu bit her lower lip contemplating how to start.

Anu: Aaj maine Raj ko apne dil ki baat bol di.

Avu who was drinking water slipt it out and starts coughing while other girls'eyes widened in shock, meanwhile Anu's eyes pooled with tears. Anu felt a lump form in her throat but decided to speak nevertheless.

Anu: Hum dono ke beech... Humare beech mein ab sab kharab ho jayega. Mujhe confess krna hi nhi chahiye tha.

Avu immediately hugged her giving her the comfort she really needed.

Anu sobbed: Mere mu se sab slip ho gya. Mujhe teri baat maanni chahiye thi, Avu. Kyu ki in the end mera hi dil toot rha hai.

Vaish: It's okay Anu. Kuch log humari life mein sirf dost banne ke liye hi hote hain. Woh sirf dost hi rehte h.

Avu patted Anu's back slowly in order to calm her down.

Avu: Ab se hum tere move on pe focus krenge.

Anu sniffling: I'll try.

Ashi: I know yeh bohot mushkil hoga. But Anu, you should cheer up for Diwali.

It was almost midnight and Ashi was almost asleep when she was startled awake by a knock on her door. She got up immediately from her bed and opened the door. She squinted her eyes adjusting to the light from the hall. She saw Aayu standing infront of her door with a plushie in his hand.

Ashi: Yaha kya kr rha h tu?

Aayu while scratching his head: Di mujhe neend nahi aa rahi.

Ashi chuckled softly at his cuteness.

Ashi: Hum na terrace pe chalte h aur hawa kha ke aate h.

Ashi took the plushie from Aayu's hand and placed it on her bed. Aayu held Ashi's hand and both of them went to the terrace. Ashi picked Aayu up and took him in her arms. She walked towards the railing and stood at a safe distance from it.

Ashi: Dekho sky mein kitne saare stars h pyaare pyaare.

Aayu: Kitne sundar h saare.

Ashi started patting Aayu's back lightly and sang: {Lori lori lori} x (4)
Chandaniya chhup jana re
Chhan bhar ko luk jana re
Nindiya aankhon mein aaye
Bitiya meri so jaaye.

Both Ashi and Aayu chuckled at the word 'bitiya' but Ashi continued singing nevertheless.

Ashi: Nindiya aankhon mein aaye
Bitiya meri so jaaye
Leke goad mein sulaoon
Gaoon raat bhar sunaoon
Main lori lori, ho main lori lori....

Ashi took a glance at Aayu and realised he was already asleep. So, she left the terrace and took him to his room. She laid him on the bed and covered him with the duvet. She kissed his forehead whispering 'good night' and left the room.

Deep tossed and turned on his bed trying to sleep. The project's stress and the relationship with his brother was messing with his head depriving him from sleep. So, he got out of his bed and went to the terrace. He took in the fresh night air before he spotted Ashi on her terrace with Aayu but unfortunately she didn't notice him. Ashi's house was beside his house, so it was quite clear. Her hair were in a lose messy bun and she was wearing pyjamas but still she looked so pretty to him. Moonlight fell on her face making her face glow.

Deep whispered to himself: She looks like a fallen angel.

He realised how he has started falling for her. He stared at her with affection while she was singing something.
