Chapter 52

Ashi entered her house still shaken by deep's confession. She was soon welcomed by an extremely happy Aayu. Aayu came running from upstairs and hugged her tightly.

Aayu: I missed you Di.

Ashi got out of the hug and crouched down to Aayu's level, planting a kiss on his forehead.

Ashi: I missed you too Aayu.

Munna: Mujhse toh koi gale nahi mil raha.

Aayu ran towards Munna and hugged him too. Munna ruffled Aayu's hair out of adoration.

Aayu: Ab aap dono fresh ho jao aur phir mujhe dikhao mere liye kya laaye ho. Tab tak mai aap logo ke liye oreo shake banata hoon.

Ashi: Tumhe oreo shake banana aata hai?

Swati: Hum iski help kar dete h toh yeh blender chala ke shake bana leta hai.

Ashi laughed hearing their response.
Munna and Ashi then went to their respective rooms to take a shower. After almost half an hour the family gathered in Aayu's room. Aayu served them oreo shakes and Ashi and Munna handed a paper bag to Aayu making him grin in excitement. He poured the bag's content on the bed.

Aayu: Wow, itna sab kuch!

Plushie, shoes, sunglasses, chocolates made Aayu jump in happiness.

Aayu: Thank you....

Tasting the oreo shake Ashi praised Aayu: Bohot tasty hai yeh!

Aayu: Kya aap bhi mai toh mazaak kar raha tha. Blender on karna shake banana thodi hota hai.

Swati: Thoda sa aur bada ho ja phir mai sab kuch sikha dungi.

After chatting for sometime in Aayu's room Mundit and Swati went back to their rooms.

Ashi: Ab tum bhi so jao. Mai apne room mein jati hoon.

Aayu: Mujhe aapke saath sona hai.

Ashi: Ok!

Ashi took him to her room and both of them lied down on the bed comfortably. Ashi softly ran her fingers through Aayu's hair.

Aayu: This feels so nice!

Ashi giggled at his response and continued doing it. After a few moments she started singing.

Ashi in her honey voice: Lori lori lori

By the time she finished this verse Aayu already fell asleep. She smiled adoring her little brother.

Now that he was asleep she got up and went to her study table. She fished out her diary from a drawer. The diary had 'Ashi' written on it in bold words, every page beautifully decorated with little doodles. Maintaining her diary was something she did only during night as she didn't want to risk her study. But she wrote down her worries only when she was too anxious. So much happened in one day, so she wanted to write everything down. She took a black pen from her pen stand and started writing.

Ashi in the diary: Finally company ki problem solve ho gayi hai aur mai Mumbai wapis aa gayi hoon. Sach batau toh Mumbai mein land karte hi alag sa sukoon mehsoos ho raha tha. Mumbai apna sa lagne laga hai. Ab yaad aata hai ki kaise mai pehle sochti thi ki mai Delhi ke alawa kahi reh hi nahi paungi, mera man toh sirf Delhi mein hi lagega aur ab dekho.

Par aaj aur bhi kuch bada hua. Mai jaise Jai ke ghar gayi sab ne mujhe Munna bhai ko surprise kar diya. Aur.... Deep ne mujhse apne dil ki baat kahi. Sach batau toh mai uski baatein bhul nahi pa rahi.

"Main tumse yeh kehana chahta hoon ki Ms. Ashi Singh, I love you. I love you to the moon and back. I love you the most in the universe. Will you bless me with your presence for the rest of my life as my soulmate?"

Jab usne yeh sab kaha mera dil zorro se dhadak raha tha. Itni zor se ki shayad usey bhi sunai de raha hoga. Par maine usey reject kar diya kyu ki.... Mai uske jaisa dost khona nahi chahti. Agar humne date karna start kar diya toh shayad kuch waqt hum saath bohot achhe se bitaye par agar hum ek dusre ke liye nahi bane h toh? Agar humara breakup ho gaya toh? Zindagi bhar ke liye ek daag lag jayega humari memories par. Aur mai yeh bilkul nahi chahti. Agar Humara breakup ho gaya toh hum dost bhi nahi reh payenge aur sab khatam ho jayega.

Sach toh yeh hai ki mujhe khud ko nahi pata mai kya chahti hoon. Kya mai use itna pasand karti hoon ki usey date kar pau? Kya pata baad mein mai hi un cheezon se tang aa jau. Hurt toh woh hoga na. Jo ki mai kabhi nahi chahti.

Woh theek toh hoga na? Maine jab apna jawaab diya toh mai dekh sakti thi uske expressions badalte hue. Mai uski dost rehna chahti hoon, par yeh mai kaisi dost hoon? Pyaar hote hue bhi usey rula rahi hoon. Pata nahi kal ka din kaisa hoga. Kya woh mujhse baat bhi karega? Usne kaha tha ki woh mera dost ban ke rahega par kya woh normal reh payega? Mai usey rote hue nahi dekhna chahti.

Kaash yeh din gayab ho jaye.

She drew a little broken heart at the end of the page and closed her diary. She kept her things back in her place and went back to sleep.

Ashi and Aayu waited for Deep and Deepu infront of their house. Ashi suddenly felt her phone buzzing and she picked up immediately.

Deep from the other side of the call: Sorry Ashi mai aaj bacho ko school chhodne nahi ja sakta. Meri jagah Raj chala jayega.
Ashi: Par hua kya?

Deep: I overslept. Mai abhi abhi utha.

Ashi: Oh. It's ok.

She saw Raj stopping the car infront of her house. Ashi and Aayu settled on the back seats.

Raj: Good Morning!

Ashi: Morning!

Aayu: Raj Bhaiya aaj aap kaise? Roz toh Deep Bhaiya le jate h.

Raj: Aaj unhone bohot zyada neend leli.

Ashi had a weird feeling in her mind. Maybe she wanted to see him, to check up if he was ok. But she was also a little relieved that he wasn't there otherwise it would've been awkward.

Aayu: Zyada sone se unko daant nahi padti?

Raj and Ashi chuckled at the question.

Raj: Padti hai na.

Sson the kids' school arrived and Ashi and Raj dropped them off there. The car filled with silence with only the faint sound of engine. Every cell of Ashi's heart wanted to ask Raj about Deep but her brain stopped her. But Raj broke the silence instead.

Raj: Are you ok?

Ashi looked at him puzzled, he noticed her reaction from the mirror.

Raj: He's your best friend. Ofcourse kal jo hua woh tumhe bhi effect kiya hoga.

Ashi didn't know what to say, she was on loss of words because of how easily Raj read her mind.
