Chapter 41

Vaish entered Jaan's room to wake her up. Jaan was covered in a blanket, sleeping. Vaish pulled the curtains aside to let the sunlight come inside the room. Jaan groaned in her sleep.

Vaish: Jaan, wake up!

Jaan turned her back towards the window and pulled the blanket till her head.

Vaish: College nhi jana kya?

Jaan with a raspy voice: Mujhe achha feel nhi ho rha.

Vaish: Kya matlab?

Vaish sat on the bed beside Jaan and placed her palm on Jaan's forehead, which was hot.

Vaish: Tujhe bukhaar hai? Kal baarish mein bheeg gyi thi isiliye. Ruk mai thermometer leke aati hoon.

Vaish quickly brought a thermometer and placed it in Jaan's mouth. After half a minute, she took it in her hand it showed, "101°"

Vaish: Tujhe toh 101 bukhaar hai. Mai tere liye kuch khaane ko leke aati hoon. Medicine ke saath.

Jaan: Di, aap jao. Aap college jao, mai theek hoon.

Vaish: Itne se kaam mein kitna hi time lagta hai. Mai uske baad chali jaungi.

The whole gang except Vaish, Jaan and Anu stood in the college's field. Faiz was really nervous after what happened the last night. He obviously liked what happened between them but the way Jaan went inside her house, without any reaction made him feel anxious. He didn't know if he was ready to face her yet.

Faiz in his mind: Tu pagal hai, Faiz. Zarurat hi kya thi? Itni achhi dosti barbaad ho jayegi teri wajah se.

Vaish walked towards them and greeted everyone.

Sid: Jaan kaha hai?

Vaish: Usko fever hai. Toh woh aaj college nhi aayegi.

Faiz in his mind: Waah bete! Teri wajah se usko fever ho gya.

He didn't know if he should be happy or be sad. It was a relief that she didn't come, he got some time to sort everything out in his head aand organise his thoughts. But she had a fever, because of him (only according to him). He wanted to meet her but not meet her at the same time. He was embarrassed by whatever happened. He just knew that things can't go back to normal after whatever happened.

Sid: Achanak se fever?

Vaish: Kal woh baarish mein bheeg gyi thi ghar aate time... Arey isse yaad aaya, Faiz, woh toh tere hi saath aayi thi na kal? Teri tabiyat toh theek hai na?

Faiz: Ha.

Vaish noticed a pretty necklace on Ashi's neck, which she had never seen before.

Vaish: Ashi, yeh necklace kitna pretty hai. STRONG!

Ashi slightly blushed at the mention of the necklace.

Ashi: Thank you!

Vaish: Kaha se liya?

Ashi: Umm... Deep ne gift kiya.

The rest of them howled, "Ooohhh" teasingly.

Sid hitting Deep's should lightly: Bina kisi occasion ke gift diye ja rhe hain?!!

Deep blushed and scratched his nape shyly: Darjeeling se laya tha woh, bas diya ab.

Jai: Humare liye toh gift nhi laya?

Preeti: Guys, woh dono BEST Friends h.

Ashi: Hum log bohot time waste nhi kr rhe yaha par? Class ka time ho rha hai. Chalo ab sab.
