Chapter 36

The whole gang was sitting in college garden and most of them were studying except for JaiReem and SidNeet. The two hidden couples just had books in their hands but were actually chatting in their phones.

Ashi spoke out if blue: Avu, tu konsa chapter padh rhi h?

Avu was discussing with Sid about their next date over texts, so as a result it slipped off her tongue.

Avu: Pet cafe.

Ashi: Kya bol rhi h tu?

Avu came out of her trance abruptly.

Avu: Sorry! Tu kya puchh rhi thi?

Ashi: Tu konsa chapter padh rhi hai?

Avu: Woh mai english mein pet wala chapter padh rhi hoon.

Swati: Tu economics ki book mein english ka chapter kaise padh rhi hai?

Avu: Woh... Woh book toh bas aise hi khuli h. Notes toh phone se padh rhi hoon.

Swati looked at her suspiciously but shrugged it off without thinking more.

Anu: Mujhe bhook lagi hai.

Raj was almost going to speak up but Deep beat him to it.

Deep: Tu padhai continue kr. Mai kuch khaane ke liye le k aata hoon.

Raj: Mai bhi chalta hoon.

Both Raj and Deep left the place and went to cafeteria to buy some snacks.

The food counter had a small queue.

Deep: Tu yaha pe baith mai counter ke aage wait krta hoon.

Raj: Ok.

Deep: Kya laun?

Raj: Burger.

Deep: Ok.

Deep silently stood in the queue and Raj sat on a table alone. Raj suddenly heard someone talking, who was sitting on the table behind him and near the queue.

Boy: Tu jo bol rhi h woh galat nhi h. Raj ke saath project mein jo ladki h woh use bhi ghuma rha h par Anushka jiske baare mein tujhe lagta h ki woh sirf uski 'friend' hai, woh sirf uski friend nhi h. Woh dono friends with benefits h.

Raj froze after hearing another shitty rumour about him and Anu. He didn't want to fight anymore because according him it will only create more rumours and problems, so he stayed silent.

Girl: Woh Anushka kitni bholi banti h.

Boy: Raj dono ladkiya ghuma rha h. Dono ko use kr rha h.

Girl: That guy is really something.

Boy: Woh aisa hi hai. Uske friends group mein bhi woh sirf selfish reasons ki wajah se hai.

Raj slowly covered his ears to prevent himself from hearing more gossip about him. He closed his eyes trying to shrug off all the rumours. He suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder, so he opened his eyes again and saw that Deep was already back with the snacks.

Deep: Kya hua Raj?

Raj awkwardly smiled and got up.

Raj: Bas thoda shor ho rha toh kaan band kr liye aur kuch nhi. Chal!

They left the cafeteria and went back to the college garden.

Ashi: Deep, Aayu aur Deepu ki chhuti ka time ho rha hai.

Deep: Raj, aaj tu unko lene chala ja na Ashi ke saath. Mujhe thoda kaam hai.

Raj: Ok.

Sid: Kya kaam hai Deep? Koi help chahiye kya?
