Blurb

Springtime. The era of change, new beginnings, blooming. The daffodils were blooming at Malfoy Manor once more, and Draco had invited his lovely girlfriend to enjoy the sweet scent of the flowers with him.

"That cloud looks like a Pygmy Puff," she muttered, pointing up at the sky. The two lay in the grass together, surrounded by the blooming daffodils. Draco hummed his agreement, although all he saw was a blob. His hand idly tore at the grass; the other was playing with her fingers in the space between them. The gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the hedges around them, and Draco released a soft breath.

Finally. They were right where they belonged.

"You know, this is actually quite nice. Now I know why you constantly spoke about this place," she piped up again. "It's peaceful."

Draco turned to look at her, gaze flitting about her profile. His lips twitched up.

"You should know by now that I'm always right." Her response was to scoff and tug at his fingers. "That one looks like a duck."

He pointed at the cloud next to the one supposedly shaped like a Pygmy Puff.

"Very original, Draco."

"You know me. I'm quite the creative wizard."

She laughed then, and he felt something unfurl in his chest. He brought her hand up to his lips and watched as her ears turned red.

"My beautiful, fighter girl. My - "

"Please don't start lavishing me with compliments again. It's embarrassing every time, pretty boy," She muttered, her whole face turning red.

Draco snorted, deciding to spare her the 'embarrassment'. He knew she secretly basked in his compliments.

"That cloud looks like the Draught of Peace."

"Oh, here we go," she groaned. "Healer Malfoy is at it again."

"I'm not a healer yet. I've got two more years."

"In my eyes, you're already the best healer there is."

Draco blushed and just pointed at another cloud, bringing the conversation back to what really mattered. They continued to call out random objects that the clouds vaguely resembled, hands intertwined, heads angled towards one another. She beamed at him at one point when he said something amusing. Draco thought her smile rivalled the sun. This was it. This was the perfect time to do it.

"That one looks like a ring."

She frowned, eyes searching the sky, "Which one are you looking at? None of them look like a ring."

"Right here," Draco sat up, shifting to one knee and conjuring the ring box. She shot up, a strangled noise leaving her lips.

"Draco," she breathed, looking from him to the box, then back to him.

The sun glinted off his watch as he opened the box. He heard her sharp intake of breath and met her gaze again, searching her expression. He wanted to laugh at the amazement on her face - no, he wanted to cry. He cleared his throat as a lump formed. His chest tightened, his tongue felt heavy, his palms began to sweat.

"My love, will you - "

"Yes!"

She flung her arms around him, knocking him back. He laughed as she pressed her lips against his. They'd been dating for years now, choosing to take their time and enjoying the experience when there was no war looming over their heads. He always knew he was going to marry her, but he'd been agonising over the perfect way to propose for months now. Finally, Blaise advised him not to overthink it and just do it when the time felt right.

"It's Y/n," Blaise had said. "You already know she'll say yes no matter what you do."

He'd wanted things to be special for her. He hadn't planned on doing it today, but something just clicked, and he knew it had to be now; he knew he couldn't wait another minute to make her his wife. He'd been smitten with this woman since he was eleven-years-old, had fantasised about her becoming Mrs Malfoy one day. He'd planned this day hundreds of times over the years, and still, this was more special than anything he could think of. Just her and him in the place he'd spent his time daydreaming about her. Draco smiled against her lips.

"At least let me ask first."

She kissed him again, "Fine. Ask, but you already know my answer."

"Marry me and continue to make me the happiest man alive."

"Hell yes."

He barely had time to slip the ring on her finger before she kissed him again, and there they remained for the rest of the afternoon. Kissing among the daffodils.

A/n Hi, it's been like two years since I completed this story, but how are you guys doing? I hope the new year started great for you guys.

Soooo, I actually wanted to run something by the lovely readers that supported me throughout this story, but I couldn't do that without giving you something about Draco and the reader. So I whipped up this proposal scene. Please forgive me if it's not good. I felt a little rusty as I wrote this😭

I have a new idea for a book, and I wanted to see if this would be worth writing ig? I've been trying to brainstorm ideas because I want to get back into writing. So, back to this idea. It would be my own original work, and I was thinking something along the lines of this princess who ends up on a pirate ship for reasons (I'm not going to give the whole plot away because my idea is very rough right now.) She would have a love interest, but her journey would be about sort of coming out of her shell and letting loose, and this would symbolise her breaking away from patriarchal values and expectations. Maybe she'd even become a pirate captain :)

Except, I realised this is basically just Elizabeth Swann's journey in the POC. The only difference is I want to make my mc Indian. Also when I'm brainstorming the plot, I'm realising it has some similarities to Sinbad💀 So idk if I should even write this. Let me know what you guys think.

Also, for some reason, Wattpad didn't notify me when I got some comments. I didn't get a lot but some of you were really funny. I was just reading through them now, and @TheBetterShip in particular made me laugh.
