JEFF POV

"Jeff... are you ready? Jeff? Do you hear me?"

"Yeah, Phi Ops, Aunty. Haha!"

"Hahaha... get ready. Standby in ten minutes."

I take a deep breath.

"Are you ready, my love?"

Ben, standing beside me, grabs my hand. It has been a long time since I last sang on stage.

"Yeah, my baby Ben. I'm totally ready."

He kisses my temple.

"I will be watching you from the crowd. Good luck, Love."

He walks out of the room.

In front of the mirror, my mind drifts back to the memories of how I found my voice again.

I open my eyes and feel my throat; it is dry and sore. I try to wake up, and Ben-who is still half-asleep under the blankets-pulls me into his arms as I move.

"Ben, let me go. I want to go to the bathroom."

"Mmm, one minute please... Wait! Oh!"

He sits up abruptly beside me.

"Love, I heard you talk. Please, say something!"

"Hello? Eh?! I can talk. Baby... Ben, yeah, I can talk!"

I press my hand to my throat. "It still hurts."

"Oh my God. Love, you can talk!"

Ben begins to cry, hugging my shoulders tightly. "We need to tell the whole family!"

He leaps from the bed and runs toward the door.

"Ben, wait!"

"Why?"

"Ben, you're naked! Please wear something!"

"Oh, haha! I'm just too excited."

He pulls on his shorts and runs out the door. I get out of bed and head to the bathroom to wash my face and clean up.

...

The family was so excited. They performed a ceremony and a ritual to thank the Moon God and the elders. We stayed for a few more days to enjoy our "pre-honeymoon" before planning our return to Thailand.

End of flashback.

I take another deep breath. I put on my in-ear monitors and check my earpiece. This is my first concert since getting my voice back, and I will be performing "Rain Wedding" live for the very first time.

I walk out of the room and head to the wings of the stage.

"Jeff, in five, four, three, two, one... Go!"

MC: "Please welcome... Jeff Satur!"

"Hello! Jeff Satur is here! Did you miss me?! Of course! Let's go, 'Ride or Die'!"

The excitement makes my heart pump so fast. The crowd and the fans sing every word together. After Ghost, Dum Dum, and Passion Fruit, it is finally time for...

Rain Wedding.

"It's been a long time, right? Do you miss me?! Thank you for staying. Thank you for still loving me. This next song is very personal to me. I wrote it when I was away for a while, and this is the first time I'm singing it live. It's sad, but it's about missing someone-wanting to be together even though I chose to be far from him. This is my love for him, and I hope all of you love this song too. Let's go... 'Rain Wedding'."
