We had a few days off from training, since sensei had given us the task of getting Lloyd settled into our crew. I had decided to get to know the boy, since it was clear to me he seemed a little lonely, and probably wanted to be a kid. So, I knocked on his door the morning after we took him in, and heard some grumbling. "Lloyd?" I called out. "It's y/n. Mind if I come in?"

"I guess." He said, probably still half asleep. I opened the door, seeing him sitting up from his bed matt, hair sticking up every which way, and I chuckled. "What's so funny?"

"Sorry, your hair's a mess is all." He huffed. "Come on, let's get your hair brushed out. I wanted to talk to you anyways." He got off the bed, and followed me into my room, as I pointed out where the boys room, Nya's room, and sensei's room was as well. I sat him at my vanity, and grabbed my hairbrush, and started to brush it out for him. "So, I was thinking, I've got some money, and you don't have anything here yet. I'm planning on asking sensei if we can do a little shopping, get you some clothes and stuff like that to get you settled in. How's that sound?" He perked up a little, but looked a little bashful.

"I mean, it sounds good, but why spend your money on me?"

"Because, you need things. Clothes, maybe something to read, or some toys if that's more your style. Kids should be allowed to be kids. Watching us train all day probably won't be entertaining for very long, you know?"

"I guess." I finished brushing his hair, and he stood up.

"Hungry?"

"I could eat."

"What're you thinking for breakfast?" He hummed.

"Can we make pancakes?" I smiled.

"That sounds delicious. Come on. I think between the two of us, we can make enough for everyone, don't you?"

"I don't know how though..."

"I'll teach you then. My mother was insistent I know how to cook. Knowing how to care for yourself and others is a good life skill to have."

"But why should I care for others? I'm the dark lords son, I shouldn't-"

"I'm gonna stop you right there, Lloyd." I said as we walked to the kitchen. "Even by that logic that evil people shouldn't care about anyone, your father clearly cared enough about your mother to have you, right?" He nodded. "So by that logic, even the evil people have others close to them they take care of. In return, those people take care of you." I nudge him into washing his hands. "But know this Lloyd- you're not your father. I can already tell."  I chuckled.

"How do you know?"

"I just do. Now, if we get started now, we can even make some bacon and eggs to go with the pancakes." His eyes brightened at the mention. "Ready to learn?"

"Yep!" He said, nodding eagerly.

"Let's do this."

Half an hour later, we had a decent pile of pancakes, eggs, and bacon, with orange juice set out on the table. I watched over Lloyd as he scrambled the last of the eggs, a proud smile on my face. "You're doing great Lloyd! You sure are a fast learner." He grinned at me, plating the eggs. "I think I hear the boys, so let's get this all out there, yeah?"

"Yeah!" He grabbed the pancakes, while I got the bacon and eggs, and we walked out together.

"Breakfast!" I chirped out happily.

"I thought it was Zane's day to make breakfast?" Kai asked, confused.

"I took over. Decided to get some one on one time getting to know Lloyd this morning, and teach him a thing or two about cooking. He's got potential there." I praised. He ducked his head, shy, but smiling.
