‘Demi,’ a raspy voice whispered as I slowly opened my eyes. ‘W-w-what happened?’ I asked softly and grabbed my head as I tried to sit up. Daniel’s arms grabbed me and pulled me up carefully. ‘You fainted,’ my foster dad said. I stayed silent as I looked around the room. Daniel is on one side, my foster mom on the other side on the couch and my foster dad is kneeled down in front of me on the floor. I thought about what happened. Unfortunately I remembered it. I really didn’t want to remember that… I bit my lip, trying to hold back my tears. ‘H-how could they release him?’ I asked panicked. Everyone stayed silent, not knowing what to say. I listened to the clock ticking on the wall just above the fireplace across the room, trying to distract myself. I felt my breath getting faster, almost having a panic attack. My head hurt like hell. ‘You want to go to bed?’ My foster mom asked me, caressing my hair. I nodded and bit my lip, trying to reduce the pain. Daniel grabbed me, just like my foster dad. ‘I’ll do it,’ my foster dad said. ‘No, I got this,’ Daniel hissed. He took me in his arms and stood up, but my foster dad stopped him. ‘Guys, please…’ I begged them as I shook my head. I gave my foster dad a pleading look and he sighed, letting us through even though he didn’t want it. Daniel walked me up the stairs and laid me down on the bed carefully. He sat on the edge next to me, caressing my hair as he looked at me. ‘You know… I already got tickets for L.A.’ He said, hope flashing in his eyes. ‘When?’ ‘The plane will leave a week from now.’ I nodded, biting my lip unsurely. ‘I still don’t know Daniel… It’s just so far and-’ ‘Just imagine it; just the two of us with a cute apartment in L.A. You’ll audition for some movies and maybe even musicals and I’ll find an awesome job too. And when at night’s when I come home from work, I’ll have you all to myself. No one else’s, just mine.’ He pulled me closer to him, snaking his arms around my waist. ‘Demi, you are my everything and I don’t want to lose you. But I am going, but it would be so much better with you there with me. Make our dreams our reality, together. If you really don’t want to, you don’t have to. Whatever you pick. I love you.’ He grabbed my hand, kissed it softly and laid it back on my stomach, his hand not leaving mine. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. This choice could change everything. Everything. If I decide wrong, can I even go back then? As I opened my eyes, I flashed him a big smile. I made my decision. ‘Okay. I’ll go with you.’ He smiled widely and pressed his lips on mine again. Guess I’m going to L.A.!
Very short. Sorry.
