The next morning I was woken up by the vibrating of my phone next to my bed. Dirty little secret flowed from the speakers and filled my silent room, the caller the person you'd expect.

"Good morning Miss Hemmings." The soft voice spoke through the phone.

"Sup Cal?" I groaned, wiping my eyes, practically still asleep.

"You are ready aren't you?" He said, almost worried. Ready? For what? Then I remembered.

"Shit. What time is it?" I asked, jumping out if bed and furrowing in my wardrobe for an outfit.

Calum groaned down the phone and I heard him drop his car keys. "It's only 10 babe, but I was gonna grab something from the football club on the way but it doesn't matter, I'll get it another day." He sounded disheartened, all because I had forgotten to set an alarm.

"I'm so sorry Cal, we can get it on the way back if you like?" I mumbled into the phone which was now wedged between my shoulder and my chin as I pulled my ripped black skinny jeans onto my legs.

He sighed and hesitated. "It's fine Riley, it doesn't matter that much anyway. I just, I'll see you in a bit." Then the line went dead.

If I wasn't hurrying, I would of thought more about what Calum had said and how blunt he was with me. He sounded so disappointed, but why?

I threw on one of Michael's flannels that I had adopted as my own and slipped on my black boots. I applied only minimal makeup, as I was doing most days now, and just straightened my hair, making it fall down my back and stop just above my waist.

Wrapping my leather jacket around my shoulders and grabbing my bag from the floor, I walked downstairs and sat next to mum on the sofa.

"You look nice Riley, going out anywhere special?" She raised her eyebrows and smirked at me suspiciously. "Or with anyone special?"

Turning my head to the window, I saw what had caught her eyes, and it was a cool looking Calum walking up our driveway with his hands in his pockets, just as he had done the night when we first met.

I shook my head, remembering that I hadn't told mum about meeting my Dad.

"I'm going to meet Dad." I spluttered, standing up and meeting Calum at the door, making him disgruntled as his hand stopped mid air. "Bye!" I called, shutting the door before she could say anything. I didn't want to talk about what I was doing; I still wasn't quite sure why I was doing it.

"You ready?" Calum yawned as we walked towards his car, my whole body aching from not being able to hold his hand in mine. "You look lovely by the way. As always."

I smiled, and got in the car. "Hey Cal, I don't mind being late if you wanted to go and do what you needed to do at the football club."

Calum lifted his hand and placed it on my thigh, the action was inconspicuous but still there.

"Babe, I said I'd be fine." He muttered as he turned a corner. "Hey Riley, look at that puppy!" He squealed like a small child, driving slowly as we passed, his eyes lighting up.

"You like dogs huh?" I laughed, watching his face fall as the puppy left our veiw.

He nodded excitedly and then frowned. "But mum says we can't have one. She doesn't like them, but who doesn't like dogs Riley? Do you like dogs?"

I nodded mockingly, earning a slight glare from the boy beside me. "I have one actually."

He spun his head to face mine, and his mouth hung agape. "You have a dog?"
