"You've changed," I smiled at Calum, who was leaning up against my fridge. Puberty had been kind to him as he turned from boy to man. His toned arms flooded from the sleeves in his tank top, and his jawline was noticeably more prominent. He had just become more all round gorgeous.

"I'd like to say the same for you Riley, but I can only say I know you by name." He replied, glancing down at his feet as he did so. His hair looked so soft, but it was perfectly styled and didn't move.

I laughed at his comment, it was only the truth. Truth be told, I only knew Calum by name too.

"It's ok, I only know you because you're 'Calum Hood, captain of the football team' but I can't say I ever showed any school spirit, I never saw any of your games. I'm not exactly the sporty kind."

He shook his head and chuckled at my comment. "Captain of the football team. I used to pride myself on that title." He mumbled, clearly reminiscing his high school days. Oh how we all wished that we could go back.

"So you should have! You won practically every game you played, for three solid years. It's a good achievement."

He nodded. "Yeah, it was amazing, and we won every game, not practically every game. I miss it though. It was a good feeling, everyone chanting your name."

I poured Joy's wine into the glass as he spoke, he sounded almost upset that it was now all behind him.

"I can only imagine." I sighed. "Everyone loved you. Can I get you a drink?"

"Oh yeah, uh, could I just have a coke?" He smiled, walking toward his parents drinks, "the food smells lovely."

I grabbed him and me a can of coke from the fridge and grabbed my mums drink and lead him into the lounge where our parents were seated.

"Oh thank you Riley," David smiled as he took the drink from Cal's hands "thank you Calum."

"Look Calum, meet the twins, Minnie and Logan." Joy said excitedly, pointing at the twins who were transfixed on Spongebob on the TV.

"Min, Logan, come say hi." I grabbed the twins attention, making them stand up and run over to Calum instantly. "This is Calum, Calum this is Minnie and Logan."

"Hello Calum! You're very tall." Minnie said, tilting her head to one side as she looked up to the tall boy standing in front of her.

"Calum, Riley says you like football. I like football. I want to be a footballer one day. One day, will you play football with me, Riley is rubbish. Riley is a good goalie though. I sometimes want to watch football on TV, but one of the girls always put something else on with kissing and hugging and girlie stuff. I like the football lots."

"Well then buddy, we'll have to teach you some football then won't we?" Calum smiled, messing up Logan's blonde hair.

Logan's mouth curved into a huge grin. "Yes yes yes! Riley, Calum's going to make me a footballer!" He squealed, running back to Spongebob on the TV.

"Riley honey, could you go and lay the table?" Mum asked, joining into her conversation with Joy instantly afterwards.

"Calum, you can help." David muttered, watching the twins intently on the floor.

I spun around and walked into the dining room, Calum following like a little puppy.

"Don't feel like you need to teach Logan football, he has these wild aspirations of being a footballer, when in reality it's never going to happen." I spoke to Calum as if I had known him for years, as if we were good friends, when I had only really met him today.
