Chapter 28

"You sure you ok?" Nash asked as we walked towards the house.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I slightly smiled but I knew I wasn't. I felt like I was about to explode. My head was throbbing, I felt myself shaking, and I felt weak overall.

"Come on, I'll make you something to eat, my dad should be here with Harrison soon." He wrapped his arm around me.

Once we got inside the house I dropped everything and sat down on the island while Olivia went upstairs to color.

"So what shall I make you to eat m'lady."

"Anything is fine, I'm just hungry." I lied and smiled.

"We're home!" Chad yelled as he closed the front door and came into the kitchen. "Hey Alexa how are you?"

"Good Chad, you?"

"Well hanging out with this little bundle of joy, I'm great." He smiled as he held Harrison's hand and Harrison giggled.

"Was he any trouble?"

"Oh no not at all, I love seeing the kids, speaking of kids, where's Olivia?"

"Oh she's upstairs coloring in her room, you could go see her if you'd like." I smiled.

"Ok I will, do want Harrison?"

"Yeah I'll take him."

"Go on to mommy." Chad said and Harrison walked towards me. I picked him up and began to make silly faces, causing him to giggle.

"I'm going to the bathroom, keep an eye on him?" I asked Nash and set Harrison on the island.

"Sure, have fun." He chuckled.

"I will." I smirked.

As I walked to the bathroom I felt my self spinning. I stopped walking and my head was throbbing. I tried to speak but nothing came out.

"Lexa?" Was the last thing I heard before blacking out and hitting my head on the floor.

"Ok thank you doc." I heard a voice say.

"Make sure to call me when she wakes up, I have something to tell the both of you."

The door closed and I felt someone's hand hold mine. I could feel myself weak, exhausted actually. My eyes flutter open and they tried to focus on the person next to me.

"Lexa?" It was Nash.

"Nash, what happened?" I sat up.

"You were going to the bathroom and you fainted. Your nose was bleeding like crazy." 

"Where's the kids?"

"My dad is at home with them."

"What did the doctor say?"

"Hold on, I need to go tell her your awake, she needs to talk to us."

Nash left the room for a quick second when he came back with the doctor behind him.

"Ok Nash, you may want to take a seat." She said and Nash obeyed. "The reason you have been feeling like this and have been fainting is because the cancer is traveling faster than we thought. I'm sorry to say this but Alexa you're dying."

My eyes went wide with shock. I'm dying.

"No treatment can help you but chemo and clinical trials may help you."

"Is that it? I'm just going to die?" I whimpered.

"We are not for sure yet but you have 30% chance of living, if you stay in the hospital it gives you another 10%." She sighed."I'll give you time to think about this, I'm sorry Alexa."

When the doctor left the room I bursted out into tears that I was holding back and Nash did the same.

"I'm sorry Nash." I cried and he held me in his arms.

"Shh you have nothing to be sorry about." He cooed as he sniffled."We'll get through this, I love you so much and I will never ever leave you."
