Chapter 30

Yesterday I didn't know why I was weak and when I got him a got sick. I was already in remission but I made an appointment to meet with my doctor today to talk about the cancer.

I walked through the glass doors and Nash was holding my hand. I smiled and we continued to walk to the doctors office.

"Hi, Alexa Grier to see Doctor Shepherd." I told the nurse at the front desk.

"Please sit, she'll see you in a but." She smiled and we sat down. I could see Nash pacing his foot and he had a worried look on his face. I rested my hand on his thigh and smiled, assuring him that everything will be okay.

"How are you so calm?"

"I learned that I shouldn't think about the negatives, only the positives."

"How did I get so lucky to be your husband?" He smiled and I pecked his lips. "I love you, no matter what happens."

"I love you too."

We sat in silence, our hands latched together until the doctor called us in.

"So what seems to be the problem?" The doctor asks as I sat on the blue cushioned table.

"I know you said that I was now in remission but yesterday I felt very weak and when I got home I got sick. Is there any chance?"

"Since you are in remission there are chances but remember you need to take things slow. I'll do some tests but the chances are low." She smiled.

"Thank you doctor."

"Alright, we'll start with some blood samples. Mr.Grier we'll be right back."

We walked down the halls towards the laboratory then a small room filled with tubes and needles. I sat down on the chair and rested my arm on small table as Dr.Shepherd prepared the needle.

"Ready." She asked and I nodded in approval. She cleaned my arm and stuck the needle into my arm, making me wince.

"Ok I have great news Alexa!" The doctor came in with the results in her hands. I tightly held Nash's hand and he smiled.

"What's the great news?"

"Well, you are in complete remission! Your cancer is gone." She excitedly said and my jaw dropped. I was cured, I was healthy.

"This is great!"I widely smiled and hugged her."But, why was feeling weak and vomiting?" I backed away from her.

"That's my other great news. We tested your urine sample and Alexa congratulations, you're a week pregnant!"

I turned around to look at Nah who had tears in his eyes and I quickly engulfed in a hug.

"I'll leave you both to talk, I'll schedule you an appointment for an ultra sound, congratulations once again Alexa."

The doctor left us alone and Nash quietly sobbed into my shoulder.

"I love you so much." I kissed his forehead.

"I told you everything would be fine." He smiled. "We're going to have a baby."

He smiled and rested his hand gently on my stomach. Everything was going to be fine, I can feel it.
