It had been at least a week since any of the guys had talked to me. Maybe Penny had done something right for once.

Tonight I had to deal with them though. It was the night of Penny's annual Halloween party. She had assured me that she would try to keep the boys off of me though. I suppose I could handle being in the same room with them for a couple hours. My main concern was what I would wear there. Maybe I could be Batman! No...Batwoman! Batgirl? Whatever it was!

After I got back from the costume shop I saw that Penny had already decorated the apartment. This girl was on a roll. She had all the snacks and drinks set up too. She sat on the couch already in her costume--a...play boy bunny? She jumped up from the couch and yelled at me. "Maddie! Where have you been? Get your costume on. The guests will be here any minute!" There was no time to argue with her. I ran to my room and got dressed.

By the time I was done getting ready there were already lots of people here. Most of them had masks on. There was a cat, Flash, doctor, scientist, skeleton, Batman, a got, and elf...Wait! Batman? Batman! Batman was sitting in the kitchen at the table drinking away. As far as I could tell he was really cute. I pulled down my mask and walked over to him. "Well hello Batman, I see we're matching."

"Not matching per say." He even had a cute Indian accent. "I would look terrible in that skirt. Now you, I'd hate to see you wearing this suit instead."

I giggled a giggle I hadn't head in quite a while. "Well thank you. What brings you here tonight?"

"Besides the Bat Signal you mean? I'm a friend of the hostess. Plus, I've got a little crush on her roommate. Have you got any idea where she might be?"

I leaned in and motioned for him to come closer. Then I started to whisper to him, "To let you in a on a little secret, Batman, I am her roommate."

Batman smiled. "I was hoping so. I would hate to be wasting time chatting up the wrong girl all night."

Batman chugged the last of his drink and then Penny walked over. "Maddie, I've seen you've met...Robin?"

"Batman." Batman and I said in unison.

"Batman. "Penny reclaimed herself. "So are you having a good time?"

"A very good time," I replied.

"Such a good time that I'm not afraid to do this." Batman leaned over and kissed me, even with Penny right there. Penny looked shocked. I was shocked too, but it was a good kind of shock. It made me smile. He went in to kiss me again but I pushed him away. "What's the matter?" He asked.

"Nothing." I flashed a look at Penny. "I just think if you're going to be like that then maybe we should go somewhere more private. You know, somewhere to be alone. ALL alone..." He nodded. "Does my bedroom work for you?" He downed another drink and then I grabbed his hand. "Great."

Out of the corner of my eye I could see Penny do a facepalm. I wondered why.

Batman followed me to my room. "Did you see that look Penny gave me?> It was almost like she didn't like you. Maybe she does like you. Do you have any idea what she was like that for?"

"I've got no idea. Maybe she's just jealous. I would think she would like me. I've rarely said anything to her, let alone anything rude."

"You're her friend, but don't like to her much? I've just met you and you seem like the most talkative guy I've ever met." I waited a long time for a response. "What is it? As soon as I assume you're talkative you go mute?" He nodded. "Well that's no fun at all. Come here. Talk." He shook his head. "Now stop being shy." Nothing. He was starting to annoy me. I took off his mask to see who this guy was...It was that Indian from next door, that Raj guy.

"Penny!" I yelled as I burst out of the room. "Get over here!"
