The Deal

The front door slammed. Penny must be home. "Maddie! Where are you?!" 

"In my room!" 

Penny walked in, "What the hell are you doing?" 

"I'm packing," I said as I threw another shirt into a box. 

"Why? You've been here for only a week." 

"I haven't even been here for a week. You're mad though, you really are. I still don't understand how you can possibly live next door to these people. It'd crazy! Anyway, I'm sure I'll find somewhere else to live, so don't worry about that." 

"Where exactly will you live?" 

"I don't know. Anywhere but here really." 

Then Penny did something unexpected. She completely broke down on the spot. She went down on her knees and grabbed my shoulders, "Please Maddie, stay. I don't want to be here alone. I know these guys are crazy, but PLEASE stay. I don't want to have to suffer alone. I've asked so many friends to move in, but as soon as they see those guys they bolt out of the building. I need a friend here, I really do. Please stay, Maddie, please." 

"All those other friend of yours were right. I really don't want to stay." 

"Please? Is there anything I can so to convince you to stay?" 

"I don't think so." 

"Please.....anything?" She wouldn't stop whining. 

"How about I just stay until I find a new place to live. I have no idea how long that will take. It could take a day or a month." 

"Make it a month?" 

"I don't know Penny. We'll see." 

"Great. Now...I need to go and...talk...to some boys." 

Penny's POV: 

I walked next door without even knocking. "You guys suck!" They all looked up at me with terribly confused faces. "Because of you Maddie wants to move out. I swear, if she leaves because of you pushing her to do it I will torment you and make your life a living hell." 

"Maddie wants to leave? Ah, oh well. I thought she was starting to like me." Sheldon said. "Oh, and how would you make my life anymore of a living hell than you already do?" 

"I will sit in your spot everyday until you leave." 

He gasped. "Leonard, make her not do it!" 

"Sheldon, I can't make her not do it. All we have to do id not bother Maddie. Just don't talk to her...and don't be yourself." 

"How can I not be myself? Who would I be then? I'd be you. Why would I want that? More importantly, why would anyone NOT want to talk to me?" 

I was going to say something but it sounded too mean even in my head. "Just don't talk to her. Don't look at her. Don't even breath her air. Do you got it?" They all nodded. "Good." I smiled and walked back home. 

Maddie's POV: 

Penny came back smiling. "Problem solved Maddie. I assure you that they'll never talk to you again." 

"How did you do that?" 

"I told Sheldon I'd sit in his spot if he did." 

"Ah, good job. Now help me unpack some of these boxes would you?" Penny just smiled again
