" you know what Sam ?Every time we go out , you chose a weird place ! This is the weirdest ever but I swear it is the best . You can make anything perfect with a creative idea" I said smiling not taking my eyes off of the flames . We ran towards the fire and I stood there in amazement . " wow !" I said breathing heavily . " your face is orange yet it doesn't stop you from being beautiful " Sam said taking a step closer to me . He removed my hair from my face and tuck it behind my ear . " hey you !" We heard someone scream and we both mouthed -shit- before running to the car . The supermarket's cashier put out the fire and sam drove away before he sees us . " you are so crazy ! That was so close" I said barely breathing and Sam was just laughing . " did you see his face ? It was so priceless " . He started to tear from laughing and I could not help but laugh too . " I do not want go home now ! This is so early ! " I complained and his laughter turned to a silent smirk " who said anything about going home darling ? The fun has just started " . I already got what he meant and my eyes widen in shock saying" no Sam ! I'm not stealing beer , burning and old gas station and do another crazy thing in the same day ! " . " oh , c'mon !" We stopped by a small bar and he left his money on the car and told me to leave mine too . We got in and some band was singing some dead song that I never heard before . People were almost asleep . " get me tequila and get the lady something not very strong " Sam said setting on a chair by the bar and I raised my eyebrow at him saying " I will get nothing " . I made sure to say it loud enough for the drinks mixer to hear . Sam turned to mewith a challenging look and I ignored him looking away . I should not be drunk when i'm with him or I will get in big trouble because of his childish behaviour . Sam took salt before the shot and bite a lime after it . He stood up and I did the same before he whispered " sneak to the car " . We stood up and was about to walk when a male's voice stopped us saying "where do you think you are going ?" . I took the salt from the bar and made sure it was not visible . " sorry ! He was feeling sick and I was helping him walk to his car " I said faking innocence and Sam playing along . " okay , Sam ! Why do not you wait for me in the car till I give this polite man his money ? " I said which caused Sam to frown but I mouthed -trust me- . He did as I told him and walked outside . Thanks god the car was near the bar and I bet he can see me from there because he had not taken his eyes off of us . " I have money in my boots . I always put them there ! Just wait till I find it " I said leaning and putting my hand in my boot , or Mary's to be clear . " I can not find it , can you help me?" I said and the man sat on his knee trying to help me but without warning , I blew the salt in his eyes then ran to the car . the man screamed saying " you bloody mother fuckers ! " . That was hilarious " I hardly managed to say between my laughter . Sam laughed along saying " I never thought you would do such a thing ! I mean , that was so smart of you " . " thank you ! thank you!" I said dramatically waving my hands in the air then continued saying " no one cursed me before !" . We stopped in front of my grandma's farm and I got out of the car . " today was fun " Sam said and I smiled saying " yes , I admit it " . " I hope I behaved today so you will accept to hang out with me again " he said biting his lower lip and I did the same saying " yes you did " . He leaned closer and our lips were about to touch when I remembered something . -don't let the same flame burn you twice - . I pulled away and he did the same then frowned saying " is there's something wrong ?" . I was about to answer when I heard my granny's voice . " cupcake ! Is that you ? I was worried sick about you today . You should've told me that you are going out" she said and I turned to her saying " sorry granny , I was just hanging out with the friend-zoning Sam " . She smiled turning to Sam then said " hello , robin's son " . " it's nice to see you again ma'am. I was just going " he said politely then turned to me saying " I think i'm going now . I will see you later " . " yeah " I mouthed entering the house and my grandma followed . " darling , is there's something wrong ?" She asked and I mumbled -no- climbing up the stairs . I entered my room and sat on the dresser's chair . I stared at my reflection on the mirror remembering what happened today . -don't let the same flame burn you twice- his phrase kept repeating it self in my head . It's like his very own words are against him ! He had burnt me once and i'm not letting him do it again . I thought I loved him but why would I love someone who hurts me ? He was nice today but well , he was nice to Mary too and look how it ended up ! He told me his secret but he can take off my necklace and make me forget everything . I was so stupid to trust him . What did I think would happen ? We would end up together ? Like fairy tales ? Fairy tales have a prince , a princess , a castle , a love story and a happy end . He is not a prince , I am not a princess , there is no castle or love story and most importantly , I do not believe in the -happily ever afters- thing . Happy ends do not exist , we will all die at the end and death was never a source of happiness . Sam does not deserve happiness . He does not deserve love . He only deserve pain and heartbreak . But a heartless person like him must fall in love first to be heartbroken then . And I think that's what i will do
