Ika-dalawampu't-dalawang Kabanata

Aries P.O.V

Two days have passed since I was discharged from the hospital. I’m finally back in our dorm, but I’m currently under house arrest. Not because of the school, they couldn't care less if I showed up to class bleeding, but because of Atticus. He strictly forbade me from attending any class until my wound is completely healed.

I'm currently pacing around the living room, trying to stretch my legs. It was a bit painful, but I needed to move.

"Candy, sit down." Demetri said calmly. He didn't even look up from the book he was reading.

I sighed and looked over at Caspian. He was sitting by the window, staring out at the campus grounds. He didn't say a word he rarely did but he gave me a small, nod as if acknowledging my boredom.

The dorm was unusually crowded today. Katana was busy sharpening her katana in the corner, her usual way of ''relaxing'', while Val sat at the dining table, quietly reviewing some files.

Napangiwi ako dahil sa ginagawa ni Katana. Itong batang 'to talaga, may pagka-psychotic din paminsan-minsan. Aya!

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. We all stopped what we were doing and looked at each other. The room went silent. Even the sound of Katana’s blade sharpening stopped. There was something about the timing of the knock that felt heavy.

Dahan-dahang isinara ni Demetri ang librong binabasa niya bago tumayo. Sa aming lahat, siya ang pinakamahinahon ang bawat galaw. Naglakad siya papunta sa pinto at dahan-dahan itong binuksan, habang kaming lahat ay nakatingin lang at tila naghihintay kung sino ang nasa kabila niyon.

Demetri reached the handle and slowly opened the door.

'Anong ginagawa niya rito?'

Standing there was....Killian.

He wasn't wearing his glasses today, and his face was as cold and expressionless as ever. He didn't even look at the others, his sharp gaze immediately cut through the room until it landed directly on me.

In his hands, he was carrying two paper bags. One was small, and the other was quite large. I found myself staring at it, wondering what was inside.

"Big brother?"

It was Caspian. He was still sitting by the window, but for the first time, he looked surprised. I blinked, my gaze shifting between the two. I knew they were brothers, but seeing them in the same room always felt strange especially with Killian looking like he was about to scold someone.

He finally shifted his gaze toward his younger brother and gave a small, stiff nod. It was a subtle gesture, but for someone like Killian, it was practically a warm greeting.

Tumayo si Caspian mula sa kaniyang pwesto sa tabi ng bintana at naglakad palapit sa kaniya. I watched, curious, as the two stood side by side. Without saying a word, Killian reached out and patted his brother’s head. It was a simple, quick gesture, but my eyes widened. I didn’t think Killian’s hands were capable of anything other than holding a gun or typing on a laptop. Seeing him act like an actual "big brother" felt like finding a rare glitch in a cold machine. Aya!

"What are you doing here?" Nagtatakang tanong ni Caspian sa kaniyang kapatid.

Nanatiling tahimik ang paligid, hinihintay ang isasagot ng taong nasa harap ko.
