Andrea's POV
"Andrea darling! Anne's here," My mom's voice reaches me from downstairs.
Huh? Why is Anne here? Not that I am complaining though. I am all time ready to meet my best-friend. I hurriedly ran down the stairs and almost tripped from the last step.
"Anne!!Hiii. What are you doing here? Didn't expect to see you here. And you didn't even tell me you were coming!" I excitedly said as I hugged her but she didn't say anything.
I could see the worry etched on her face, her hair were carelessly fallen on her sides and she muttered something under her breath every couple of seconds.
"What's wrong? You don't seem okay..."I demanded while myself getting worried.
"Let's go to your room," Anne said quietly. "I will tell you there"
With that, we started moving towards my room. And with each second, my tension increased. What the heck was wrong?
"So..what's the problem," I asked, once we were in my bedroom, my hands folded on my chest.
"You and Finnick...are together, right?" She asked.
I stood stunned, not knowing what to say. I did plan to let Anne know about it but never had the words to say it. I couldn't possibly walk up to her and say 'Hey girl! You mind me having your ex-boyfriend as my boyfriend?' So Anne had figured out that Finnick and I were together...she had a problem? Was that why she was worried? Is she angry with me? Is our friendship going to break in the following few minutes? These questions never left my mind.
"See Anne..I was just about to tell you but-"I started saying nervously, trying my best to defend myself but Anne stopped me.
"I guessed so. But.."She didnt complete her sentence, instead she sat on the bed.
"You aren't angry?" I asked timidly, while propping myelf beside her.
"No..I need to tell you something else..." she said while rubbing her palms again and again. I take a sigh of relief. At least everything is right between us.
"I went to the Club Ravinoza yesterday," Anne started speaking and I looked at her with big eyes. Did she won any lottery? Was she secretly the daughter of a millionaire? Did she have any invisibility cloak which made her enter that super-expensive club?
Seeing my face, she hastily added, "My dad had recieved a free pass for it but he could not manage to go, can you imagine it? So I went instead as who would waste such a rare opportunity.."
I nodded but not quite understanding where was this leading us to.
"And I saw Finnick there."
This did not surprise me. He was an actor. And he must be having loads of money. What was the problem with this? Before I could open my mouth to say this, Anne spoke something which shattered my heart.
"With another girl."
I sat on the bed motionless, my mind taking in the news. I did not know how to respond. I calmly said, "Tell me everything in detail." Maybe she was mistaken. She might just been his friend.
"I dared not go near him, as I couldn't risk being spotted. She was very beautiful and Finnick held her by her waist...I could not hear their talks but I did catch him calling her 'love' again and again." Anne looked at me sympathetically.
I could not believe what I was hearing. Finnick was cheating on me. I simply could not believe Anne.
Anne started saying something while squeezing my hand. "This is why I didn't want to continue with Finnick. You might be thinking he likes you, while he might be acting all the time...you would never know."
I fighted back my tears and confusion. Despite everything, from seeing his whatsapp profile picture with a girl, Anne seeing another girl with him at the club, I could not lose my trust in Finnick. Whatever happens. This might be just a confusion or misunderstanding. I had read enough books where the girl breaks up with the guy just because she had some misunderstanding while the boy was loyal all the time.
"I trust Finnick," I say, trying to sound sure of what I was saying.
"But just now I told you he was with another girl yesterday," Anne said.
"She might be his friend, co-star or something, you never know. I will not spoil anything between us," I said, sounding more firm this time.
"Not if he was calling her 'love'..." Anne said standing up from the bed. "I could make out you and Finnick were together and when I saw him with someone else, I came straight to you this morning."
I listened to her in silence.
"I was pretty tensed to tell you all this. Didn't knew how to tell you.." She said while straightening her skirt. "I told you what I saw. Your choice now..whether to believe or not."
"Thanks for informing me, Anne. But I strongly believe in removing this confusion. I am sure this is all a misunderstanding," I told her while looking out at the window.
"As your wish...just be okay." She waved her hand in the air, signalling she is leaving and walked out of the room.
I stood in the balcony as the breeze was flowing outside. Standing out in the cool breeze cooled my mind.
I trust Finnick.
Yes.
I was pretty sure of this. I made a decision, knowing it only would be the best solution.
I will myself go and ask Finnick about everything. I would clear every doubt I have and thus finish this confusion.
Yes. This would be the best.
Provided, in the hope of removing all this confusion, I don't finish our relationship.
