Shuichi Saihara

You landed in the hospital after catching a bad case of COVID. A high fever, sore throat, fatigue, and an inability to taste anything left you feeling completely miserable the whole week you had to spend lying in a hospital bed.

In between bouts of restless sleep, you were treated by various medical professionals and visited by both Shuichi and your family. Usually, the two parties didn't cross paths when dropping by your hospital room, but the handful of times they did, you were pleasantly surprised to see that your boyfriend and family were mostly getting along. You don't know if your folks (and by extension, your younger siblings) were only putting up a front for your sake, or if they were finally warming up to Shuichi, but regardless, it was good to know they were at least being cordial—it sure saved you an extra headache you didn't need.

You couldn't express how happy you were when you were finally discharged from the hospital... only to realize you had a week's worth of schoolwork to catch up on. You guess you let out the world's loudest groan, because Shuichi asked if you were okay, and when you told him what you just realized, he said he could help you. You planted a kiss on his cheek and said you were definitely going to hold him to that promise.

It doesn't snow often at Hope's Peak, but the day you ended up in the hospital, it happened right after a fairly heavy snowstorm in mid-January.

You don't know why, but you got a sudden craving for a latte, so you slipped on your boots and set out on a walk to a café that isn't too far from the school. Unfortunately, you stepped on a fresh patch of ice without realizing it. You went sliding across the sidewalk like a cartoon character before landing face-first on the pavement. You felt something warm trickling down your face, and when you reached up and ran your fingers along your cheek, your hand came back stained with blood. Head throbbing, you covered the wound still spilling blood from your forehead and called an ambulance to take you to the hospital.

You only spent a day and a half in the hospital, but between the pain coursing through your forehead, the chaos of the crowded and busy hospital, and being fussed over by both your parents and Keebo, it felt like a week. It's not that you didn't appreciate your loved ones supporting you, but at some point, the extra noise started to get on your nerves.

When he wasn't focused on you, Keebo was talking to your parents. Like the first time they met, they were very entertained by your boyfriend, but kept the teasing to a minimum. You wonder how long it'll take them to stop being amused by you dating a robot because it's getting kind of old.

When you were discharged, Keebo escorted you back to Hope's Peak, radiating concern the whole time, and now that you're away from that hectic hospital, you found it less annoying and more endearing. He actually had a bowl of soup waiting in your room for you, even though you weren't sick (and didn't even have a concussion like he suspected). The soup was cold by the time you ate it, but you didn't really care. You were just glad to be out of that damn hospital and back in your dorm with your boyfriend.

Ever since the day you woke up in the hospital after nearly drowning, you've had an aversion to going back. Unfortunately, when you twisted your wrist during gym one day, the nurse immediately recommended that you go to the hospital, even offering to pay for a cab or Uber herself. You decided to give it a couple of days to see if it would heal on its own, but when that proved fruitless, you reluctantly had to suck it up and head to the hospital at the insistence of Rantaro, who became more and more worried about your condition with each passing day.
