Chapter 18

I dressed up in a simple baby blue skater dress with half sleeves that would cover my injured arm. I saw myself in mirror.

Did i made a mistake listening to my heart? So much have changed in only few weeks. There is no way back now. I have to find out the truth. Ben...i trust you...god please let our love be true. I prayed silently.

I heard a knock on the door..i opened it and saw Ana standing there.

"Sammy..are you ready?" she asked concerned.

"Yes..let's go..where is jim?"

"Umm..sammy he was in a meeting when i called. He said he will meet us at Gerard's place and will speak to you. Sophie and Noah have already left. Let's go or we will get late but still i want to ask you if you really don't feel like coming then..." she said.

"No Ana..i am fine. Lets go." I assured her.

We left house, Ana was driving her car, she knew exactly when to leave me to myself. I was quiet looking out of the window through the drive. We drove for almost half an hour.

Ana parked in front of a house. It was a simple yet classy almost as same as ours from outer side. We parked our car and got out.

"Aunt Sammy!!!!"

I saw Niki waving me from the door. She came running towards me and i picked her up playfully taking care she wouldn't touch my arm which was still paining.

"Hey Barbie..how are you?" i asked and kissed her.

"I am good auntie, i missed you... Hi Ana auntie.." she turned to Ana and she smiled at her.

"Come on lets get in." i said and we went inside.

The house was beautiful, it's interior was modern with a hint of antiques, i am sure Rose has a big hand while decorating. There was a big living room with two sofa's and chairs with an oval glass coffee table in between. On the right corner was the dining table and kitchen.

I saw Sophie, Noah and Gerard's family except for Kate were all seated.

They were busy in discussion when Nicholas saw me.

"Aunt sammy!!...look dad she's here." he said and came to me. I bended down and kept Niki on the floor and hugged Nicholas.

"How are you sweetheart?" i asked him smiling.

"I'm fine Auntie..Niki and me were waiting for you." he said and i smiled at both the kids. I looked up and saw everyone was watching me. I smiled at them and went towards everyone.

"Ohh Sammy dear, how are you?" Rose came and greeted me.

"I am good and you look beautiful as always." i said. She laughed on that.

"Yes dear. Please have a seat." i nodded and sat beside Sophie. I greeted Gerard and Nethan who were sitting across.

Ana greeted them and sat besides me.

We all got seated and the wedding discussion started. They decided 30th May as the wedding date. We all planned about the venue, arrangements, etc. Everyone seemed happy while Sophie and Gerard seemed to be in their own world. Looking at them the memories of our small picnic where Ben and i were together came to me.

I miss Ben.

"Hi everyone." Jim greeted entering the house.

Ana went towards him and escorted him towards us. Number of questions started repeating in my head. He looked at me in concern and noticed my hand which was bruised. His jaw clenched and he whispered something to Ana. She looked at me and nodded to him. Jim greeted everyone and apologized for coming late. He sat next to me and gave me side hug. I flinched a bit as he incidently touched my injured arm. He saw me his eyes full of concern.
