Chapter 37

I entered Ben's apartment and saw Ben was sitting on the couch working on laptop.
He looked up and saw me standing near the door.

"Sam.." he came towards me and gave a hug..."i was worried about you."

"I'm fine Ben." i assured him.

I went towards the sofa still thinking about what i saw and sat in the corner, after drinking a glass of water when Ben interrupted my thoughts.

"What happened? What was it that you wanted to tell me?"

"Ben, before coming here i dropped by the departmental store on the way. When i went in i saw Amber there..."

"Amber?? Are you sure it was her?"

"Yes..yes ofcourse..i checked the pic that was sent to me that day..remember?"

"Hmm.. So?"

"She was talking to someone at the corner. I stayed for a while and when she left i saw Mike with her, and...there was Nessie."

"Who is this Nessie?"

"Ben..remember the girl in my high school who was my best friend along with Sophie."

"Is it the same girl who cheated on you with Mike?"

"Yes..it's her. She was with them. I saw Amber was bit pissed while talking to them. She was holding a folder, i just saw Healthcare Hospital's name on it. I guess she must be going there for checkups as she is pregnant...but i didn't get one thing, why was Nessie there?...and after they came out i saw Mike went with Nessie while Amber took cab."

"Hmm..i think we should inform Charles." Ben said thinking about it.

"Yeah, i feel the same. I saw them on the CCTV screens near the cash counters later so i clicked few pictures too." i gave Ben my phone showing the pics.

"Let me see..hmm..yes you are right..it's Amber, and the other girl with them is Nessie i guess?"

"Yes.."

"Good Sam..I will forward this pictures to Charles. I will be back." he said and went towards study.

I went to our bedroom and changed. After having shower i went towards the balcony.
I stood there for a long time admiring the view and enjoying the cool breeze. The city lights were tinkling under the moon. It felt so calm. All these things
happening around are so sudden. Today was full of surprises, Emilie got me the best gift i will ever dream of, Nessie's comeback, Mike with Nessie and
Amber...what is she upto? I can't link any of it. I just wish if there was someone who could help me with this questions.

"Sam?...." i heard Ben calling. He saw where i was and came towards me.

"Hi.."

"It's Sophie on call.." he gave me his phone and smiled.

"Hello?" i said and saw Ben went out again. He knew me so well, i needed Sops, i was missing her.

"Sammy..hi..how are you?"

"Sops..i am good..I was missing you. You called at the perfect time."

"Why? Is everything alright?"

Should i tell her?..i don't think so..she would be worried and ultimately mom dad
would know about it from her. I don't want to bother any of them.

"Yeah..everything is good..."

"You sound odd..." Sops asked worried.

"It's just this day Sops..a lot had happened."
