"I can't move."
"Good morning!"Angelina called as she stretched her arms above her head.
"Morning." I simply replied standing up from my bed.
"Do you want to go get some coffee, girls?"Logan asked slipping on her cardigan over her lavender tank top. She paired her top with some distressed jeans and some stylish flats. Angelina wore a black crop top that showed a sliver of her stomach, simple denim jeans and a pair of military combat boots.I decided to be lazy and swapped my pajamas for a plain faded blue V-neck and high-waisted shorts.Placing some flip flops on my bare feet, I grabbed my bag and headed out.
"It's the closest thing as a Starbucks on campus. The coffee is pretty good, especially their vanilla frappuccinos." Logan said as we walked towards the cafe.
"You should totally try their mocha frappucino. It's heavenly!"Angelina exclaimed beside me.
"I'll give it a try."I chuckled
The coffee shop was medium sized. It had large windows next to the front door.Students were lounging outside, seated at the tables that held umbrellas above their heads. We walked in and instantly the smell of coffee and sweets hit my nose. The counter held a cupcake display with different types of cupcakes. Chocolate. Vanilla. Strawberry. Red velvet and many more.
"Morning girls, what can I get you?"A girl with blonde hair pulled into a ponytail asked.
"I'll take a medium vanilla frappuccino with a squirt of raspberry."Logan said. She pulled out five dollars from her back pocket.
The cashier looked at me, "Yes?"
"I'll take the medium mocha frappuccino."I clearly stated taking out my money.Handing her the money, she waited for Angelina to order. "I'll have the same."
We waited for our coffee at a booth. I saw a boy with brown cropped hair carry our coffee on a grey plastic tray. Not a second later he was handing us our coffee.
"Hey, Logan."He kindly said.
"Hey Jonathan. I see you're using your speed on the clock."Logan teased.
"Well, people started complaining that the service was too slow,so I thought I should help. Coach says to use your power for the better anyways."
"True. I think I've heard him say that more than a thousand times in the past year."
"It's actually a thousand and twenty three.I should be getting back to work. I'll see you around." He waved at Logan before he vanished a second later.
The three of us continued to sip on our coffees. We talked about how we first realized we had powers.
Logan was talking about how when she was twelve and her older sister would always take forever in their bathroom. One day she was fed up with it that it made the sink handles fly off and flood the bathroom. Her parents were shocked that occurred since their plumber came a few days before. Logan's father fixed the sink and a few days later a letter from the Academy came and Logan left her home in Chicago. She started seventh grade at the Academy and goes back to Chicago every summer.
Angelina's story was different. She had lived in Sacramento, California her entire life. One day her older brother took her hiking. While they were on the trail, strong winds started to blow. Both of them thought that it would be better if they went back. On their return, a tall tree began to fall. As it fell, Angelina stopped it mid-fall and placed it beside the trail, making sure it wouldn't be a bother or hazard to anybody else. Her brother didn't want to believe that she had superpowers. However, just like Logan a couple of days later Angelina got her letter and left Sacramento.
