"I've never treated a girl like I treat you."

Friday after school, Angelina and I were making our way to cheer practice. The weather was starting to cool but it wasn't anything extreme.

When we arrived, I saw Blair talking to a girl with blonde hair. She had her hair in a ponytail but when she pushed back her hair, I saw the red stiletto nails.

Sierra.

"Alright girls! We have a new girl on the squad." Blair announced.

"Let's start from the beginning okay?" Blair pressed a button on her remote and the familiar song rang through the room. Our bodies began moving through the motions and we were all synchronized according to the mirror in front of us.

After a couple of minutes doing our footwork, me and two other girls were being thrown in the air doing twists and turns.

When the song finally ended, I had my arms extended over my head being propped up by three or four girls below me.

Doing another twist, I let myself fall with my back facing the floor but the girls caught me, breaking my fall.

"That was great ladies!" Blair cheered while clapping her hands, "The next thing we need to do is come up with cheers for the crowds and for ourselves. You guys remember when I said we would have cheer offs? Well I thought that it would be a better thing if we had one between first and second half so the crowd gets pumped!"

We all murmured in agreement.

"Great! Now since its the juniors and the seniors against each other. I'll take the seniors and let's see who will take the juniors..."

Her eyes raked over us until they rested on me, "Allie will take the juniors! You don't have a problem with that, do you?"

"No." I shook my head.

"Alright seniors with me! Juniors with Allie!"

Eight girls went with Blair and seven with me,counting Sierra.

"You have any ideas, Allie? I mean we totally have to show up the seniors in the cheer-offs!" A girl named Gisele exclaimed.

"Yeah! It already blows that they think they're the best thing since The Hunger Games!" A girl with dirty blonde hair called Devyn declared.

I looked at all the girls in my squad.

"Okay well how about this: 5, 6 ,7 ,8 - juniors are best and seniors look like dead weight." I told them.

"You call that a cheer?" Sierra scoffed.

Narrowing my eyes at her, she didn't falter.

"You have something better?"

"I have everything better." She said, trailing her eyes over me.

"Listen to this: 1, 2, 3, 4 let's see the juniors score. 5, 6, seniors don't have tricks. 7, 8, 9, 10, every now and again juniors kick ass"

"But the juniors have class." Angelina pointed out, looking at Sierra.

"Oh come on, this isn't Catholic school Rose, this is high school. I'm sure we can have a bit of language in our cheers." Sierra said with a roll of her eyes.

"What do you think, Allie? You are captain." Angelina said, turning towards me.

"Captain?" I asked, dumbfounded.

"Blair didn't just pick you to lead our cheers. You're captain of the juniors." Devyn told me.

"Maybe she doesn't have enough guts to be a captain." Sierra sneered, flipping her ponytail over her shoulder.
