"Don't worry I'll protect you."

Allie's Point of View

I had missed Florida. I had missed it more than I imagined.

Once I saw my mom in the airport I began to cry and I sobbed when I hugged my father. I was a complete mess.

Justin had wiped my tears away and I smiled at him which caused him to kiss my forehead. I think he didn't go for my lips because of my father.

Justin was right about one thing: his tattoos.

The instant my father saw his darkened arm his eyes narrowed at him and I could tell he wanted to pull me away from Justin and send him back to Canada.

When we finally reached my home, Justin and I took our luggage from the trunk of the car and followed my parents into the house. I noticed there was a familiar car in the driveway and from the front door I heard a squeal coming from my older sister, Cassandra.

"You're here! Oh my Gosh I can't believe it! I missed you little sis!" She cheered as she hugged me. I held her but I heard her struggling to breathe. "I... Can't... Breathe... Allie." She choked out. I released her immediately and chuckled.

"Sorry." I shrugged.

"Yeah yeah. You're probably just trying to get me back for all those times I did shit to you." Cassandra waved off. Her eyes landed on Justin and a smirk pulled at her lips. "You brought a boy home?" She questioned playfully.

"I'm Justin." He introduced himself.

"Cassandra. Munchkin's older sister." She winked at him.

"Shut up. I do think I can kick your ass now." I laughed.

"Yeah whatever. I'll just shove some strawberries in your face and I'll be good." She smirked at me.

"Strawberries?" Justin asked me.

"I'm highly allergic to them ever since I got my powers. I used to eat them all the time. It's my favorite flavor but I can't have anything that has strawberries."

"Come on, let's get you two settled in." Cassandra said, helping me with my luggage. Justin carried his own to the house. My bedroom was right next to the guestroom and I knew from the expression my dad carried on his face he wasn't ecstatic about that. I showed Justin his room and then he followed me to my room.

It hadn't changed. It looked exactly the same the day I left for the Academy.

"Nice room." Justin commented as he looked around. The purple walls still held some abstract paintings I had found at some furniture store.

"It's missing something though." He muttered. He exited the room and came back holding a light grey frame. He placed it on my right nightstand and stepping back away from it, I noticed it was one of his sketches.

It was the sketch of me where I had the same matching tattoo that was on his neck on my ribcage. Only with this sketch he added some color. He lined my hair with brown and my cheeks with a light pink. My lashes were darker and fuller. I crawled onto the bed with my knees tucked underneath me.

"I love it." I told him. Clutching onto his shirt, I pressed him to me. He buried his head into my neck and smelt my hair, something I found he did quite often.

"I'm glad." He said, moving so he could stare into my eyes, "You're so beautiful." My cheeks blushed at his comment.

"So damn beautiful."

He pressed his lips to mine briefly, "I want to tell you something but I can't. I don't know how you'll react." He confessed. His eyes met mine again and he sighed deeply.
