We arrived at the mansion.

"You live here?"

I nodded.

He shoved his hands in his pockets, "Are you insane? This place is ducking haunted."

Yeah, by me.

"It's not 'ducking' haunted. It's a normal house."

His narrow eyes shifted from the house to me, the smirk from earlier returning. He pulled one of his hands out of his pocket.

"Come here."

I cautiously stepped closer to him. My eyes widened as I felt his hand close around my own.

Uh.

"Well?"

I pulled him to the door and opened it. It creaked, a bunch, until the moment it closed.

"This place is creepy." He let go of my hand and put it back in his pocket.

For the love of God.

I started walking down one of the long hallways, hearing him follow me. The quietness is kind of odd. Xikuo said that he'd be staying home, for the day.

We got to one of the living rooms.

"Oh, I didn't hear you come home. How was the day, kiddo?" Xikuo appeared at the doorway.

I nodded, "It was fine. Um, this is Akaito. We have a report to work on."

"Ok. Your laptop is in one of the bedrooms. You guys could move there, but there's still no furniture. You can use boxes, if you want." He left, again.

"That isn't your dad, is it?" Akaito asked me as we started walking through the house, again.

I shook my head, "Older brother, Xikuo."

"You must have a pretty big family if you're living here."

"No. Just me and him."

We got to one of the bedrooms. I started rummaging through one of the boxes, in search of my laptop. I found the cord, first. Knowing that it was already fully charged, I ignored it.

"Are your parents on a temporary leave, or something?" He asked.

I sighed, pulling out my laptop, "More like a permanent one."

I sat against the wall as he plopped down, next to me. I opened the top and opened a new file.

"They left you?"

"In a way. They died, about ten years ago." I explained.

There was a pause, "I'm sorry for asking."

"No, don't apologize. I've never actually told another person about it, so it kind of feels liberating, in a way." I said.

"You........really don't remember me, do you?"

Surprised at that, I looked up, "What? Remember you from where?"

He mentioned something about seeing me before, in class. But, what is he talking about?

"No. Forget it, we should work on the report."

(Two hours later.....)

"Ok, that's a good place to stop."

We both let out sighs. We had finished the first ten pages of our thirty page report.

"Here, can you save it to this?" Akaito gave me a flash drive.
