(Three days later......)

"Bye, Mikuo! See ya tomorrow!" Rin waved, giggling as she got onto her bus.

I waved back.

Nero linked his arm with mine, "Hey, let's walk home, together! We live in the same direction, right?"

"Yeah, I think so." I smiled.

Over the past week or so, I've become closer friends with Nero and Rin. I just found out that they're dating, and have been since summer vacation.

We started walking, spouting any random thought that came to our heads. The time passed quickly, and we were already at his street.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Mikuo!" He waved as he left, the same way Rin did.

I waved and continued walking to my own house. When I got there, Meito was in his room. It looked like he fell asleep reading something. He was at the table with his head down and his book over his head.

I poked his back, several times. He jumped, a bit, mumbling something about not remembering to feed a hamster.

Not knowing if he was awake, I poked him, harder.

"Ow, hurting!" He whined, sitting up.

I guess he is.

"Sorry, I didn't know that you woke up." I sheepishly smiled.

He put the book on the table and rubbed his eyes, "S'ok......."

He yawned, "Was school good?"

"As good as school could be. I got your make-up work for you." I pulled a few papers out of my bag and gave them to him.

He took them, "Thanks, Mikuo."

"No problem. Your teachers are asking about you. It has been a while, plus the extra three days since you got out of the hospital." I told him.

"Oh, right. I'll be back in, soon. But, I'm not just thanking you for the papers. Also for letting me stay here. I mean, I know it's a big house and stuff, but I'm still kind of inconveniencing you and your brother."

"You're not an inconvenience, Meito. I'm the one who offered you a place to stay. We like having you here." I tried reassuring him.

He slowly nodded, "If you say so."

Before we could continue talking, my phone started ringing. I took it out and answered it.

"Mikuo, it's me."

I paused, ".....Akaito?"

"Are you home, right now?" He asked me.

"Yeah, but-"

He cut me off, "I'm coming over."

"N-No, you can't-"

This time, I was cut off by the dial tone.

"Is he coming here?"

I nodded, "You should probably stay up here."

"No, I can't. Xikuo stepped out, for a while, just before you came home. You'd be alone with him and I can't do that." Meito pointed out.

Before I could protest further, the doorbell rang. Meito got up and left the room. I was quick to follow him down the stairs and to the front door. He swung it open and decked the other in the face, without hesitation.

Surprisingly, he took a step back. Akaito was holding his jaw, giving Meito a wtf look.

"What are you doing here?" Akaito asked, still holding his jaw.
