"... our last words, ringing in my head."
MICHAEL
"Hey, buddy", Calum patted Ashton's shoulder. "You can't stay in all day, another day".
Ashton shrugged and looked up at Calum.
"Why not?".
He looked like he hadn't showered in ages, wearing a shirt she'd gotten him for his birthday.
I had never seen Ashton be so devastated and even though I still wasn't talking to either Kylie, Alex or Lia I knew Lia was feeling the same way (basically because Niall told us everything that happened at home).
Ashton were laying in his bed at the hotel we were staying at.
At this point, we had all given up on sharing rooms with him since all he did was laying in bed. All day.
So me, Luke and Calum shared a room further down the hallway and had let Ashton be for himself for a while.
But now it'd been two weeks since Lia left and he hadn't been out since.
Luke and I looked at each other.
"Because you've been staying in for like two weeks now. The only time you leave this room is when we have shows or interviews. People are noticing something's wrong. Cheer up, mate", Calum tried.
We all know if there was someone who could cheer Ashton up, it was Calum.
But nothing seemed to work.
"I can't 'cheer up'! I broke her heart and now I'll never get her back. All I want is for her to return my calls, but as long as she doesn't do that I will stay in", Ashton declared and looked at us.
We couldn't keep doing this and with two weeks left on the road everything would get worse.
"Ashton. Get. Up.", Luke suddenly said and got Ashton's attention.
"No."
"I said, get up." At this point Luke was standing next to Ashton's bed with his arms crossed across his breast.
When Ashton didn't listen, Luke dragged him up from the bed and pushed him into the bathroom.
"Don't you dare come out of there until you've taken a shower", Calum shouted and I could hear Ashton snort, but soon you could also hear water from the bathroom.
"Call her", Luke said to Calum.
"Why me?"
"Call Alex, not Lia".
"Oh", Calum took up his phone from his pocket and I couldn't help but wonder if I had still talked to Alex; would Luke'd asked me?
ALEXANDRA
My phone started to buzz.
Calum Hood; caller ID told me.
"Hello?", I said and waited to hear my best friends voice.
"Hey babe, how's things?", Calum said and I could hear Luke talk to someone in the back.
It was about five pm and I was going home to Harry's place with Kylie.
"Things are okay I guess", I told him.
"How's Lia doing?", Calum sounded deeply concerned.
"The same. She's been out the house a couple more times since 1D came back though and most nights we bring lots of people over to make her think about other things but you know..."
"I know. Ashton's the same", he made a pause. "Alex, we need to make them talk to each other. I can't keep doing this. And yes I'm very well aware of the fact that he did wrong, very very wrong. But he's Ashton and both you and I know how much he loves her", his words reminded me of the Michael situation.
Who by the way, still wasn't returning my calls or texts.
It made me mad that he couldn't even tell me what I'd done wrong and not even Calum had an answer for me. Probably because Michael wasn't telling anyone what the problem was and most of us had given up.
I wasn't sure I could open my mouth again. The tears were already rolling down my cheeks, and as much as I tried to make them stop; I didn't work.
"I can't force her to talk to him, Calum...", I whispered and I heard how choked my voice sounded.
Calum turned quiet for a while.
It hurt that I couldn't do anything to help either Ashton or Lia, just encourage them to talk each other.
Lia was out for the night anyways, with Liam, Sophia and Liam doing whatever.
And I had no intentions in bringing Ashton up when he was the reason she had been staying in for two weeks, crying and crying sunrise to sunset.
"I know. It was stupid of me to even ask", Calum suddenly sounded annoyed. "Got to go. Talk to you later, Alex", he said and hung up.
Okay. He could not be mad at me for not forcing my best (not to mention heartbroken) friend to speak to her cheating ex boyfriend, could he? I tried to dry my tears once again, which didn't work out this time either.
In any way, I couldn't have two 2/4 of 5SOS hating me so I texted Calum.
Alexandra Parker;
You have zero reason in being mad at me.
His answer came within seconds, almost like he's expected me to text him.
Calum Hood;
I'm very aware. Sorry for sounding rude. x
I couldn't help but smile a little and miss my best friend more than ever.
What an idiot he could be, but he was my best friend.
I found myself thinking about Michael again. As I did; most days.
And not even after the three hundred texts I'd texted him over the last couple of weeks, he answered.
What could I have done?
The only reason that came to my mind was the fact that he regretted the kiss and couldn't express his feelings so he just ignored me.
I missed Michael more than ever and my heart hurt of crying everyday. I just wanted him back.
Without thinking further, I dialed his number and he ... picked up. What?
"Michael?", I whispered. No respond.
But was I surprised?"Michael, god damn it. I miss you so much. Whatever I did or whatever happened. Please just talk to me", I knew he could hear me crying, and hoped perhaps that would make him answer, but no.
"Michael", I tried once again. "Please".
I hung up and laid down in my bed, cried more than ever.
