Chapter 15: It seems I call my wolf stupid and dog a lot. True though.
-Clinton's POV-
Adrenaline surged through my veins as my paws pounded across the forest ground.
All around, wolves dashed with such elegance and speed, they seemed like visions of oversized dogs hissing thorugh the trees, so fast and so graceful, no twigs snapped. Barely any leaves crunched.
We followed with equal acceleration, letting the medium colored brown wolf lead us towards out training ground. It was obvious from its size and fur that it was an elder wolf. Coach Hinges was a strong wolf; with the poisture of a fighter.
A sandy brown wolf appeared beside me, and although I didn't turn my head, my large animalistical eye - that turned into a golden hazen in my wolf form - rolled to the corner, focusing on Neil, who nodded his acknowledgement at my presence.
'Alpha,' He contacted me through the mind-link.
'Since when did you stop calling me Clint?' I asked.
My wolf gracefully dodged passed a tree.
'Err, yeah,' His voice toned down into a grumble.
Just then, another wolf pranced to my left, whereas Neil remained on my right. I recognized the large, powerful size of an Alpha instantly. The grayish fur made it obvious that it was Drake as he looked at us.
Since he wasn't in our pack, we couldn't communicate through the link. But I could tell there was still skepticism, even in his wolf form, as he stared at me.
Neil's wolf let out a short bark of acknowledgement at Drake, who snarled lowly back. Human's may think it a rude way of greetings, but in wolf language, it was literally, "'Sup!"
Everything was fine at first. The wolves ran in silence, elegantly avoiding trees and bushes, weaving through the air. I could feel my wolf growing stronger as he growled, enjoying the almost full moon as the power started radiating of its blood. From the way the wolves around me gained speed and gracefulness, I could tell the moon was gaining effect on them as well.
Despite all of this, I wanted to get back to SMA. You would not believe how right it felt to have Daire in my arms, even if it only lasted a few seconds.
But she was defitnetly acting strange. The thin layer of swear coating her delicate features; and the way she had started growing paler and paler was proof of such. But she'd asked me to go. And the way she smiled was a soft spot for my wolf and I. So we did as she said.
Thoughts on my wonderful mate caused my paws to start speeding up again.
All of a sudden, Drake let out a sharp hiss of shock before his feet skidded into a stop and his large wolf braked and hit into a trunk.
Some of the wolves seemed surprised by the sudden disbalance of the strong gray animal as it kneeled there, growling to itself.
Neil and I stopped and walked carefully towards him.
Drake sat there in his wolf form, snarling viciously to himself. Even in this state, I could see the fear and disbelief in its electric blue eyes as it shot up to meet mine.
I growled at him lowly, asking what was wrong. He just continued crouching there, shaking.
All of a sudden, a painful pull tugged at my huge mucles. I let out a howl of profanities as my knees buckled and I fell harshly to the ground in a loud tudd, jerking unstoppably.
