A few hours later and the two guys were back at Jeremy's scoping the place out.
"Right, so all we really need to do is transfer all of our clothes into our new chest of draws, move the bed into my new room and sell the sofa from the conservatory." Mike said with a grin on his face.
"Uh, you know that the sofa in there is new and we only got it delivered last week. No one has even sat on it because I haven't been in their and mum's been in America the whole time."
"Well to be honest Jeremy, your mum did say that the house is yours to do whatever you want with it. And we won't need the sofa so we can sell it and get quite a bit of money for it because it's never been used," Mike persuaded Jeremy.
"Yeah . . . We could all way's say that it was too big for our house," Jeremy said lightening up.
"Shall we look online and see how much your mum bought it for, so we can have a fair asking price?"
"Yeah, all right then," Jeremy then popped off to get his mini laptop from his old room.
A few minutes later and they were on the same site as the one the sofa came from.
"Oh look, I think that's the one!" Jeremy exclaimed.
"Yeah it's that one all right! How much is it?"
"WOAH! It says '£598.99'"
"That's a lot of money!" Mike said, instantly grabbing the laptop and putting it up on gumtree.
"Well, I guess that's sorted, I'll go move the rest of my mum's clothes into a spare suitcase and move mine from your room to my room," Jeremy said getting up from the kitchen table.
"What is your mum gonna do with all of the her clothes that are here?"
"She's coming round on Saturday to pick them up and I think she wants to stay the night,"
"Where?"
"I dunno, probably on the sofa or something, I will chuck her a few blankets and a pillow!" Jeremy shouted from his new room.
"Fair enough," Mike said just loud enough for him to here.
Jeremy started to unpack his mother's clothes, which were already neatly folded, into a suitcase he found in the shed. First he put in a pile of T-shirts, then some blouses and some trousers. There honestly wasn't much left in the house of hers. When Jeremy got to her underwear he had to get the tongs out of the kitchen as he flicked every pair on top of the clothes. He then put the tongs into the dish washer twice, just to make sure they were clean, he still is unsure whether to use them in cooking or not!
Question of the chapter . . . Should Jeremy use those tongs again?
