XVIII. Surprise!

(The day of the party)

*just pretend that the decor is already up, and Aphmau is still (somehow) unaware of the party.

Garroth's PoV

(Huh, I've spent way too much time on Garroth's PoV the last few chapters. Kind of. Meow)
Alright, today's the day. Today's the anniversary of the day I met her. Aphmau, my love, my light, my life. (THAT GOES THE SAME FOR BOTH ME AND YOU, GARROTH- APHMAU IS LOVE. APHMAU IS LIFE. GARMAU IS FOREVER, AND THOSE WHO DEFY GARMAU SHOULD BE- ahem, right, onto the story.)

-Time Skip-
(Cuz I'm bored)

Alright. Five minutes. Aphmau got a note saying that she was needed at the farmhouse. Worst place for a surprise/hidden party, but best place for a party in general. (I'ma just skip to the actual thingy, cuz MAH PATIENCE IS DEAD.)

"Hello? Is anyone-" Sweet little innocent Aphmau spoke.

"SURPRISE!"

She stared at the banner, at the joyous faces on everyone's face, and her eyes widened she started sobbing.
Wait... Sobbing?
I went up to her and hugged her.
"You okay?" I put on a reassuring smile.

"I'm fine, it's just-" she started.

"Aph, you okay?"

"Lady Aphmau, what's wrong?"

"Are you alright, Lady Aphmau?"

Voices around the room in reassuring tones started comforting Aphmau, and she started sobbing again.

"Hey.. You alright?" I asked softly.

"I don't- I just- T-thank y-you..." She buried her face in my chest and stayed there for a few minutes after me trying to coax her out.

(AWW)

Aphmau's PoV

Heh, I'm stupid. I cried. I sobbed. I wept. But I was happy. I had everything a girl could want. A guy, friends, (doggies) support, love. I finally couldn't hold it in any longer. I burst. I remember all everyone's done for me. What I've done for them, and every single person, or friend who I've met over the past year(s?) in Phoenix Drop. Ever since I arrived here, it's been a dream come true, a few bumps in the road, but a dream come true. After I finally came out of Garroth's shirt, I got a hug from everyone, even little Kyle and Alexis. And then the party started.

"Hey," Garroth came up to me after a while.

"Hey," I smiled.

"That's what I love you for."

"What?"

"Your smile. Your hugs and kisses. Your happy laughter, your kindness, bravery, everything about you." He pressed his palm to my cheek. He pulled me close, and we once again locked lips. And that warm feeling returned, and I felt safe, harmless. Protected.

-BOOM-

What? What was that?

"Aphmau, stay here, I'm going out to see, come on, Laurance, Dante, Brian." Garroth grabbed his sword.

"No, I'm coming with you." My smile had disappeared, and a scowl stood in its place.

"But-"

"I'm coming with you."

And we went outside.

Dante's PoV

(Ooh, new person's PoV whoooo.. Magical.)

Aphmau, Garroth, Laurance, Brian and I headed outside. I was the first to see. And I nearly fainted. A massive load of rubble stood in what used to be our guard tower, and the thing in the middle of the rubble nearly caused me to faint.

Gene.
