Hiccup and Valerie returned to the cove. They were currently at the entrance made of two big rocks, each twin with a fish in their hand, while Hiccup held up a shield just in case. They peeked through the gap in the rocks as Hiccup threw his fish into the cove; however, nothing happened. They checked if the cost was clear before Hiccup tried to walk in with the shield, but it only got stuck between the rocks instead, as Hiccup tried to pull it free.
"Uh, we forgot to check something." He muttered, as he tried to get his shield out.
"Yeah, no kidding." Valerie said, grateful she didn't bring hers.
Hiccup and Valerie then crawled under the shield, as the boy tried to pull his shield free on the other side, before giving up.
"Well, looks like we're going to have to do this shield-less." Valerie muttered, making Hiccup sigh.
He then went and picked up the fish, and the two of them walked into the cove as they looked around for the two dragons. Unbeknownst to them, the black Night Fury crouched on a rock, observing them, before letting out a snort, making Hiccup look behind him and gasp. The dragon slowly crawled down from the rock and sideways maneuvered in front of them, while smelling the air and catching the smell of a fish. Hiccup cautiously took some steps back when they heard a light warble behind him and his sister gasping, causing him to turn around to see his twin being stared at by the white Night Fury, opposite the black one. However, unlike the black Night Fury, it was much calmer and looked at the teens with a hint of curiosity while still being cautious.
Hiccup then nervously held out the fish his holding, offering it to the black Night Fury, while Valerie held out her fish in both hands to the white Night Fury. The two dragons slowly walked closer to each twin, slowly opening their mouths to take the fish before noticing something, making them growl and back away as their eyes turned into slits. Realizing where the dragons might be looking, the two teens lifted their vests to reveal their daggers, Hiccup's dagger at his belt, while Valerie's dagger was in its sheath, with a belt on top of her skirt. When Hiccup went to touch his dagger, the black Night Fury backed away and growled as a warning, making Hiccup flinch as he bumped into his sister. Valerie also reached for hers, making the white Night Fury growl at her. The redhead paused before unsheathing her dagger while Hiccup took his from his belt. The two of them dropped their weapons onto the ground.
However, the dragons move their heads to get it farther away. Hiccup lifted his dagger with his foot while Valerie simply grabbed her dagger. The auburn-haired boy tossed his dagger away as it splashed and sank into the water, while the redhead threw her weapon away with all her might, as the distant cluttering sound was heard. Seeing that their weapons are now gone, the dragon's pupils dilated as they perked up, adopting a curious look at the two teens and fish, their ears twitching. The two teens offered the fishes to the dragons once more, as they slowly walked closer to the two before opening their mouths, showing them their gums, no teeth.
"Uh, Hiccup, is yours also...?" Valerie asks her brother, whose back was to hers.
"Yeah, huh, toothless, I could have sworn you two had..." Hiccup trailed off, as sharp teeth then appeared from both dragons' mouths.
The dragons snatched the fish out of the twins' hands and gobbled it down, before licking their lips and looking at the two teens.
"Teeth..." Hiccup finishes in shock.
"That's new." Valerie said, equally shocked. "At least we still have all our fingers."
The dragons suddenly looked at them with their eyes slightly slitted, they tilted their heads while walking closer to them, making a gurgling and purring sound.
