today was the day of my dad's trial. I was completely terrified if i'm quite honest. They wanted me to go up and speak, but i just didn't want to. Not with him standing there and staring at me whilst i spoke. What if he gets out? What if they don't believe my story? I mean - I've got to talk otherwise they wont lock him up! I really don't want to. But Dan and Phil cant speak for me either, they don't know what happened to me for so long.

I'm just gonna tell them the truth, i'm gonna ignore his stares, and just pray to God that they trust me because if he gets out, you have no idea what he'd do to me!

I stood up, slipping out of bed and rubbed my eyes. I hardly slept at all, all i could think about was him.

I got changed into a black dress. It went down to my knees and i made sure to wear a vest top underneath it so they wouldn't see my stomach. I hope they wont ask me to prove that he hurt me by showing them the bruises, cause then i'm screwed!

I slipped on some black tights underneath and put on a black cardigan. I felt like i was going to a funeral, i was only wearing it for court; i don't think i'd ever touch a dress ever again.

I walked downstairs, covering my palms with my sleeve and smiled at Phil.

"Are you ready?" He said.

I shook my head and looked at Dan, who was holding out his arms for a hug. I took it gracefully and leaned into his chest.

I sighed and decided I would talk for today, just to tell them my story, but after that I would not speak a word.

I left the house, having not eaten for two days. My phone had been blowing up with messages from hateful people on social media. I tried so hard to ignore them, but I just couldn't, it was way too tough.

I sighed and slipped into the backseat as we drove along to court.

An hour later, we arrived at the court room.

"Order in the court!" The judge said.

"Mr Mathews please step up to the podium," the judge spoke.

My father made his way to the stand, and so did another man in front of him. I'm guessing, his lawyer.

I had a lawyer also, she was a kind lady and told me my father was for sure  going to pay for what he did.

I sat in the stalls with the rest of the people there. Dan and Phil sat on either side of me.

My father was handcuffed and was told to share his side of the story.

"Well it all started a long time ago, my wife had died so I had to look after my daughter on my own. One night we got carried away and we were just play fighting, I accidentally pushed her over, but as soon as I noticed what I had done I went to help her," He said, looking me in the eye.

"Yes, judge I can clarify that the bruises left on Leona Mathews were nothing but a fall," his lawyer said.

"Objection!" My lawyer spoke up.

The judge nodded her to go on and she got out of her seat.

"I have pictures of the bruises left all over Leona. It shows there is more to it than a push," She said, handing the judge the pictures to show.
