The rain pelted down as Harrenhal came into view. Vhagar circled, torching the land below in her wake.
The large war dragon circled Harrenhal once, twice, and then a thrid time. Each time raining down molten fire from her maw.
"Dragon!"
"Dragon!"
Vhagar made her descent into the ruined courtyard of Harrenhal. She landed with a resounding thud, then began pushing her way through, knocking over the already brittling columns.
Vhagar released another wall of fire as the small garrison ran and shouted in terror. Many of the men were quickly engulfed in her flames.
That is when Aemond began his descent from Vhagar, his sword already drawn before his feet touched the ground.
Aemond's skill with the sword was a master class. Having trained under Cole for years, he held his own against the small garrison that still clung to Harrenhal.
Aemond pushed his way in through Harrenhal's doors where Ser Simon Strong was eating dinner at the table, with his sons.
Aemon laid his sword upon the stone table and removed his helmet. "I seek Daemon Targaryen."
Simon Strong set his fork down. "I confess, we had not been expecting you."
"Draw you sword." Aemond stated flatly.
Ser Simon Strong scoffed. "Your Grace, I have no sword."
"Then get one!" Aemond exasperated.
Simon Strong rose and crossed over to Daemon. I do not wish to oppose you. I have not wielded a blade these many years. Surely, there is some other way you might find satisfaction? Hm?"
Simon placed a hand on Aemond's shoulder. "The army has decamped. There's nothing to stop you."
There was a glance, then a glare. Then Aemond brought the blunt end of his sword against Simon Strong's temple, and he crumpled to the floor.
His son, Germund Strong, shot up. "Father!"
The same fate met Germund and he to crumpled next to his father.
The other, bravely or foolishly drew a sword. The pair was circling one another, Aemond made the first jab, and the son weakly blocked.
Aemond had the upper hand for a moment. Until Alys Rivers walked into the great hall.
Aemond rounded, his sword drawn at her. The son got behind Aemond and before he could react, he felt a burning pain in his backside.
Aemond reached back and pulled the dagger out of his back.
Aemond drew the blunt end of the sword back, striking the boy before he stumbled forward.
"Jessica..." Aemond stuttered. "Help me."
Aemond went down on one knee. "My Love please....help me."
He collapsed onto his stomach and looked up at Alys. "Help me."
Back in King's Landing, Jessica had walked out of the Throne room before Rhaenyra or Daemon could stop her, Alicent and Helaena were close behind.
Jessica did not stop for either of them. She went to her chambers and slammed the door. Only then did the tears fall hot and heavy.
Jessica sank into the chair by the window, her head in her hands. She wanted Aemond, wanted the security for her children. Wanted Aemond.
She did not want the chaos that followed Rhaenyra and Daemon. She did not want the consequences of these actions brought foward.
