Aegon took Jessica's hand and raced down the fligh of stairs.
"Aeg." Jessica hissed in confusion.
Aegon tuned back and beamed at her.
"Where are we going?"
They were about a third the way down. Aegon stopped, and turned to face her. He took a step up and placed a kiss upon her lips. He murmured against them. "Trust me Jess."
Jessica and Aegon held each other's gaze before Aegon pulled the along and continued their descent.
Once they had reached the bottom, Aegon truned toward the right. They walked along the hedges, until the hedges gave way to stone. There was another passage and Aegon slipped them both through.
They cleared the passage, and they were out of the Red Keep completely.
"Aemond is going to kill us."
Aegon slipped an arm around her. "He can certainly try."
Jessica sighed. "Aeg."
Aegon kissed her temple. "My brother wants to keep you in a pretty little castle as his pretty little wife. Forgive me if I want you to live."
Jessica had never seen the city so alive. To be honest, she never really saw the city. She was always cooped up in the castle.
Viserys had always warned his young daughter of the dangers surrounding Flea Bottom. And in truth, the maze like roads would have you twisting and turning in no time. And every alley way hid its own sinister tale.
But Jessica was enthralled. Her eyes couldn't just focus in one specific location.
First stop was down the Street of Flour. Aegon and Jessica sharing bread and ale.
Aegon suddenly had Jessica up in his arms and spun around and around, eliciting a high pealed laugh from her.
Aegon set her down her back against his chest as she caught her breath.
Shouts from around the corner, made Jessica all the more curious. She pulled away from Aegon and went to investigate.
There was a play being performed. Jessica leaned against the wall and observed.
"You don't want to watch this filth..." Aegon tried to urge her on.
Jessica held up a finger to his lips. "Shhh."
Aegon nipped. "Jess...please."
She turned her attention back to the company at hand. Her arms crossed. It was completely satirical, depicting the disfunction of her family. Jessica cocked her head. They had certainly painted her in a...colorful light.
"So that's what the people think of us." It wasn't exactly a question, more like...conformation.
"As I said, it's filth. The way they drag around your name." Aegon gave Jessica's hand a tug.
"But they're not exactly wrong." Jessica let Aegon pull her along if only to pacify him momentarily.
They passed by several inns, gambling holes...pleasure houses. And to Jessica, things became quite overwhelming.
Aegon gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, "not much farther Jess, and we'll stop again. Promise."
Aegon had turned his head toward Jessica and didn't watch where he was going. Aegon ended up running into two drunk men, leaving a nearby inn.
Aegon clapped the one he ran into on the shoulder and gave a quick apology. He went to pull Jessica around when he was stopped.
"Not so fast boy." The first one slurred.
