-Five months later
Lexi...
"Yes, Taya. I guess I'll go to this party with you tonight." I smirked to myself and went into my closet to go ahead and pick out an outfit. "Aydin went with his grandma for the weekend, so I'm gucci as fuck."
"Hmm, I'm surprised you not cooped up inside with you new man, Chris."
Chris and I have been dating for about four months and it's hell. I really need to talk to him about breaking everything off.
I gulped and put the phone on my other shoulder. "Um, yeah. I just didn't feel like being in tonight."
I grabbed an outfit along with some matching shoes and laid it out on the bed. "Bout to kill em wit' this." I bragged.
"Hmm, well I would love to see this. I haven't heard you talk so positive about your damn appearance since you got with that nigga." She scoffed.
I nervously chuckled. "Yeah, well."
"Hmm, the party is later so I guess I'll be over there after I'm done getting ready. Call you later, boo." Taya mumbled before she hung up the phone.
I shakily sighed as I glanced at myself in the mirror. I carefully ran my manicured fingers across the bruises on my neck.
"I can't go out like this..." I whispered to myself. I instantly got all of my makeup products ready for when I got out of the shower. "If Taya saw me with these bruises she'll go off on me for not killing Chris. But, I'm scared." I bit on my bottom lips to keep tears from rolling down my cheeks.
After getting in the shower and getting dressed, I sat at my vanity mirror to do my makeup, starting with my face and moving down to my neck.
You couldn't see the bruises unless you looked too hard, but just to play it safe, I put a choker around my neck.
Taya texted me.
Taya- downstairs... wya?
Coming down now.
Taya- good. Hurry tf up!!
Bitch, don't rush me! Lmao
I giggled and put my phone into the back pocket of my jeans, running downstairs to get into Taya's car.
"It's been forever since I seen you. You're always wit' that Chris nigga." She spoke up as she pulled out of my driveway.
"Bruh, could we please not talk about...boyfriends and baby daddies?" I groaned.
She shrugged and pulled up to a stop sign. "Just saying. He always with you. I just wish this was you and Fetty." She sighed.
I just shrugged. Fetty went ghost on me after we broke up and he moved out, so I haven't seen him at all. Especially since he picked up more gigs and interviews. Aydin has bragged about seeing his daddy multiple times at his grandma's house, but I haven't seen Fetty in about five months.
"Damn, this party look like it's about ta' be lit!" Taya squealed as she took off her seatbelt.
I laughed and took off mines as well. "Well, you don't want to be at a lame ass party, do you?"
She scoffed. "Baby," She exited the car and closed the door behind her. "You will never catch Taya at a boring ass party. That's just what it is." She blandly replied.
I nodded my head, following behind her. "Oh, I see." I sarcastically mumbled.
I smirked to myself as I heard Fetty's song, Addicted blaring through the speakers.
He wrote that song for you, girl! I squealed to myself in my head.
No matter what, I still find myself all giggly and warm inside when I hear that fucking song.
I smiled a huge smile to myself, trying to wipe the smile off of my face.
Taya hit my arm. "That's your song, girl! If you wanna dance, I ain't gone judge you at all." She laughed.
I let out a sigh of relief and began to move my hips a little. My eyes instantly widened when I saw Monty glaring at me. Standing next to him was Dice. I hit Taya's arm.
"Tay, did you know that Monty and Dice were going to be here?" I yelled over the music.
"They here?" She asked in a confused tone.
"Why the hell do you think I asked?" I paused and thought about something. "Oh my- if they're here, you know Fetty is with 'em." I groaned and placed my hand on my forehead.
"Girl, you should've known you was gone have to talk to him at point in time. Y'all have a damn child together. If you happen to run into him- good luck." She patted my shoulder before making her way over to Monty and Dice.
I made my way through the crowd, through the kitchen, and into the backyard where surprisingly, there was no one. I laid down on a lawn chair by the pool and looked up at the stairs, peeling a little pain in my neck when I moved it.
"Shit!" I lowly cursed and moved my hand to massage it. "How did I get myself into this bullshit? Chris is such an asshole but yet I stay."
I heard the patio door sliding open so I pulled out my phone to make myself look occupied.
Monty and Dice sat on the two chairs to my right, leaving only the chair on my left available to whoever was with them.
I looked out the corner of my eye and saw that the third person was, of course- Fetty.
My heart sank into my damn stomach.
