Lexi...
"Let's go Aydin." I held Eliza on my hip and went to walk out of the photography shop.
"We're going to leave daddy?" Aydin asked.
"Mhmm." I nodded my head and opened up the front door. "He can catch a ride with that bit-" I caught myself. "Let's just go."
"Lexington!" Jasmine called after me, running as she held her daughter's hand. Fetty was running with her as well.
When she caught up to me, she said, "I didn't mean to break the two of you up. I didn't-"
I pushed her away from me. "Just go." I simply said. Then I unlocked the car to put Eliza in her car seat.
"So you just gone leave me here?" Fetty asked.
I closed the car door. "Aydin keep an eye on your sister, okay?"
He nodded his head and put on his seatbelt.
"Catch a ride with your baby mama." I rolled my eyes and turned to get into the car.
He smacked his lips. "Why she just now tellin' me about Camille? She probably ain't even mines!" He tried to grab me.
"I..." My voice cracked. "I don't want to do this," I motioned between the two of us. "Anymore. So," I took off my engagement ring. "You can have this back. Get your money back, give it to Jasmine, or something." I sighed and bit my bottom lip to prevent myself from crying.
"Lexi-"
"I need to get Eliza home for her nap." I hurriedly said and got into the car.
.....
-The next week
The doorbell rang, so I hurriedly made my way downstairs to answer the door.
"August?" I said with shock written all over my face. "What are you doing here?"
"You goin' through some shit, ma. I wanna be hea' fa' you." He warmly smiled.
I looked down at the floor and smiled. I looked back up at August with tears in my eyes. "I-I just called you last night. How'd you get here so quick?" I sniffled.
"I have my ways."
"Oh, August." I fell into his arms, hugging him and crying. "I really wish Jasmine would just disappear."
He sighed. "I'm pretty sure you do. Whea' ya ring at?" He grabbed my hand and looked at my ring finger. "You ain't give him da ring back did you?"
"I did. I don't want to have to deal with baby mama drama." I sniffled and pulled out of the hug. "It'll be easier for the both of us this way."
"Easier for both of y'all or jus' you?" Aug raised an eyebrow.
I rolled my eyes. "The both of us. I think." I mumbled the last part before I sat on the couch.
"See, you jus' thinkin' about yourself right na'." He told me and motioned for me to sit next to him.
I plopped down next to him.
"You need ta' talk ta' him. Cause I'm lookin' foward ta' attendin' a wedding on August 27th."
I slightly laughed. "Even if I did change my mind, I doubt he'd want to give me the ring back and marry me now, especially after I dumped him."
"He has a daughter, what the hell?" August chuckled.
"Okay, who's fucking side are you on?" I scrunched my face up at him.
"Man, I'm jus' tryna see you happy." He solemnly replied.
I smirked and stood up. "Yeah, well I was happy."
He stood up as well. "Well what happened?"
"Jasmine showed up with her damn daughter and-" I heavily sighed.
"I'm not going to say a thing. But I guess I did kind of over exaggerate about this whole daughter thing. I should've been more upset with Jasmine for hiding it but I wanted to be the only woman that had Will's kids." I pouted with my bottom lip sticking out.
August plucked my bottom lip which caused me to quickly fix my face. "Damn it, Aug." I mumbled.
"So you a la' jealous?" He smirked.
I shifted my weight to my right hip. "Didn't I just basically tell you that?" I asked with attitude present in my tone.
"Shit, don't be gettin' mad at me. I had to make sure before makin' assumptions." He scoffed. "I got a show ta' get to, so you needs ta' handle ya business wit' ya mans."
I gave him a hug. "Wait," I gave him a suspicious look. "You only came here because you had a show?" I inquired.
"Luh you, kid." He patted the top of my head. "Promise me you'a talk to Fetty or somethin' cause I'on like my luh whoadie bein' sad."
I swatted his hands away. "I love you too, idiot." I smiled. "And yeah," I rubbed my arm. "I'll talk to my baby. I miss him." I whispered the last part.
"Yeah, I know ya crybabeh ass do. Otherwise you wouldn't be fallin' asleep on the phone wit' me."
I awkwardly looked around. I would always call August and have him talk to me until I fell asleep.
I was going through a mild case of insomnia since Fetty wasn't at home. I couldn't sleep for anything.
"I'd call you all the time even if I was with Fetty." I lied.
"Lie again." He threatened. "Let me get up outta hea'."
I waved. "Bye, Aug." I laughed.
So, that was the first thing on my list.
Talk to Fetty.
Maybe even Jasmine as well.
I'd need to think about the whole 'talking to Jasmine' part because I've discovered that my temper isn't exactly the same as it was when I first moved to New Jersey- before I met Fetty.
