MARCUS:

Since my date with Bree went awry, I plan on asking her out again. But this date is going to be a bit different.

I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. I nodded at Douglas and he pushed a plate of microwave burritos in front of me.

"Marcus." I really wished that we could have had these few minutes of my earring in silence. Guess that's not what he wanted. "We need to talk."

"About what?" We had had a heart-to-heart moment. But that was all. A moment. Most likely won't even happen again. "Our little heart-to-heart? Nothing to talk about."

He sighed and looked at me with sad eyes. "It's not just about the heart-to-heart thing, Marcus. It's about something else..."

My eyes narrowed and I put my left hand under the table and on top of my left leg.

"We need to talk about your ability to confide in me." Maybe I don't want to confide in you, I thought.

I stood angrily and pushed the chair to the floor. "You know? Not every kid has to tell their parent everything. And don't get to attached to me, like you did your other android, I'm gonna die soon anyway! Leave me alone, all right? Then this may actually be a working 'environment.'" He stood there, speechless. I left, annoyed by the reaction and walked out the door, slamming it behind me.

BREE:

Adam, Chase, Leo, and I arrived at school just in time. We had five minutes to get to our lockers, get our books, and get to class. For me and Chase, this would be easy. Our classes were a minute away and we are pretty quick at opening our lockers and getting our books out. For Adam and Leo...not so much. They have class on the other side of the school.

"All right. We got five minutes to get to class. Everyone, we can't be late. Bree open Adam and Leo's lockers, give them their books, then super speed then to their classes," Chase commanded. I nodded and walked over to their lockers. I super speed the locks and, after the door opens, hand them their books.

"Let's go." I grabbed each of their hands and super speed to Math 2. I super speed back to Chase who was waiting for me. I got my books. "I'm ready."

We walked to class.

TIME SKIP TO LUNCH (STILL IN BREE'S POINT OF VIEW)

"Hey, I'm gonna go to the lunch line. Want anything?" Chase looked at me, expecting an answer.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, can you get me a parfait?" I wanted yogurt at the moment, but the yogurt they sell here is pretty unhealthy but their parfait's are really good.

"Are you going to give me money?"

"No."

"How am I supposed to pay, then?" Chase asked, smirking. He held out his hand, giving the universal signal for giving money.

"I'm not giving you money, Chase," I said. "Now go get me a parfait. I'm hungry."

"Fine," he groaned.

"Oh, wait," I called, "I forgot to do some homework. I'm gonna go get it. If you need me--and I'm not here, I'm at my locker, 'kay?" He nodded and I got up and left.

*****

I opened my locker and grabbed my English text book. Ugh, English. I stepped back and lifted my hand to close my door. The door closed for me and I looked around, startled by the loud slam that came from the locker slamming and locking.

"Over here."

I turned and saw... Marcus? "Oh, hey, Marcus. What's up?" He inched closer to me and I casually stepped back.

"Nothing, really." He stepped closer, I stepped back. Sooner or later, I realized, I'm gonna run into the lockers. "Just hanging. Forget to do some homework, did you?"

I nodded and looked around for any one.

"Oh, you won't find anyone here, Bree." He smiled. The fateful moment of backing into lockers had finally arrived at her fourth step backwards. "Don't be scared. Nothing's gonna happen. Promise."

"Please back up, Marcus."

He didn't speak. He closed the gap between the two by connecting their lips.
