ADAM:

Something is wrong, again, with Bree and Chase. Their relationship is really weird. Chase refuses to talk to her, and Bree can never get the courage to talk to him. I'm waiting for the time when one of them asks me to listen to them and help them. That's what always happens with them.

Sure enough, Chase walked through the door to our house and sat across from me at the table.

"Hey, Adam," he greeted. "I really need to talk to someone." He rubbed his hands together. "Are you free right now?"

I nodded. "Yeah, sure. What do you need? Something wrong?"

He sighed. "It's Bree..."

"What did she do?" I asked, curious at the answer. Chase had specks of silver in his eyes now, and, now that I think of it, every time I see him, he has anger in his eyes. Anger that you could never imagine Chase having.

Anger that some people didn't think average humans could possess.

"She-" he put his head on his hands- "she was kissing Marcus."

I gasped. That's not like Bree! I know it! She would never hurt Chase...not deliberately, anyway. Marcus had to have done something, right? Bree wouldn't do anything like that, right? Right. It's just not possible. I'll talk to her about it once Chase is done.

"What?"

"Yeah. You heard me right. She was kissing Marcus!" Chase had an angry tone-not that I couldn't understand why.

"Did you see what happened before?"

"No." I waited for him to get what I was saying. He got it after a few minutes. "Wait, you think Marcus forced her to kiss him? Does that sound like a Marcus type thing to do?"

"Doesn't have to be." I shrugged. "Only Bree and Marcus know what happened originally. Not you. You walked in on something and you thought you knew what was happening. You made it seem to yourself as though Bree was a cheater. Do you think she's a cheater?"

CHASE:

"Guys, guys, guess what!" Leo screamed. Adam and I shrugged and waited for him to continue. "You know how I'm always telling you guys Marcus is evil?" Adam and I nod. "Well, now I have proof." He pulled out his phone and opened it. "Watch this!" Leo looked around. "Wait, don't watch it now. We need Bree to see this, as well."

I groaned and turned to Adam. "It was gonna happen eventually, Chase. Just talk to her."

"Talk to who? Bree?" Leo asked. "Did I miss something?"

"No," I answered quickly.

"Yes." Adam shook his head. "Leo, you missed Chase getting his heart ripped out of his chest by Bree." Leo had a questioning look. "Chase saw Bree and Marcus kissing." Realization dawned on him and his expression turned to sorrow.

He patted me on the back. "Bro, I'm so sorry. I'm sure that it wasn't what it seemed."

Leo was about to say something else but the door slammed shut to reveal a soaked Bree. I hadn't even realized that it was raining. At the sight of her shivers all my anger was forgotten and I rushed to pull her into a warm hug. She stopped shivering after a few minutes of our embrace but I didn't let her go. Her head was buried deep into the crook of my neck and I could tell she was smelling me. I didn't realize we were alone until I heard the sound of a door closing.

Reluctantly, I pulled away to look at her. She hadn't just been in the rain, but she had been crying, too. Did I do this to her? I really hope not.

"Bree, what's wrong?" I asked gently.

"Aren't you mad at me?" she asked. "Why do you care?"

"Just because I'm mad at you, Bree, doesn't mean I don't care about you," I replied. "I don't think I could ever stop caring about you." I sighed. "Bree, I want to know what happened."

"Okay, I'll tell you." She looked down and I realized we were still standing really close to each other. So close that I could feel her breaths agains my neck. "It happened like this..."
