CHASE:
I wondered what in the heck was happening.
With Bree clinging to my arm, I peered over the edge of the railing to see more of the men. Turns out that they aren't joking about blowing the house up. I see four men with shields in front of them and grenades in their free hands.
I looked at Bree. "I'm gonna go down there, okay? Do not make a sound and do not move from this spot, understand?" Bree nodded and loosened her grip around my arm to the point where I easily slipped my arm from her hands. I walked to the stairs and descended.
"Okay, okay, relax, everyone," I said, trying to get them to lower their guns. "Can I please have someone tell me what is happening here? Or are you going to continue to point guns at me without explanation?"
"You know why we are here, Chase Davenport," one said from behind a shield.
"That's my name, but that didn't answer my question. Could you please lower the guns?" I nodded towards the guns. "And if you don't mind, could you step out from behind those dreadful looking shields?"
"Men, do not move a muscle." The man that was obviously the leader stood slowly. "I am Agent Williams of the CIA." He stretches out his hand, waiting for me to shake it. I clasped his hand in mine for a brief shake then pulled away. "We got an anonymous tip that there was strange activity coming from this house, is your father here?"
I shook my head. "No, we-I just got here. And I live with my grandmother. But she's missing, can you help me find her?" I really hoped they hadn't noticed the stutter.
"Wait, what? You're alone? You live alone?"
"Didn't you just hear me? I live with my grandmother. She's missing. Can you help me find her?"
I had a feeling I was making this man feel dumb. Don't blame me, though. It isn't my fault. I just am the smartest man in the world and make people seem dumb whilst there around me. Is that so wrong?
"But our anonymous tip-" he started, but I interrupted him.
"Was wrong. Your anonymous type...was wrong," I said.
BREE:
Chase was handling this really well. He made the man seem stupid and managed to lie smoother than silk. How? I don't know, and honestly, I don't care. He just got us out of a bad situation.
I sighed in relief and went back into his room. He could handle this. It's not like anything will happen to him. With his molecular kinesis and force field, I'm sure that nothing could go wrong...for him.
For I, unfortunately, felt a pair of hands clasp around my mouth. The hands were strong and inhuman. They felt human, they looked human, but they weren't human. Not that I could tell. The strength was one that not even Adam possessed.
I tried to scream but the hand muffled the sound.
"Sh...don't scream. It'll be over soon," a soft, seductive tone stated. "Don't put up a fight."
A swift movement took place and, as soon as I felt the pressure of his hand lifted, it was once again placed. This time by a cloth. A strange smell erupted in my nostrils and I felt myself slipping from consciousness.
The last thing I saw was the face of Marcus lifting me up.
