Chapter nine
Cheryl’s POV.
Taking a bite from my apple I walk towards my car. I’m expected to be at Sarah’s soon and I don’t want to be late. I’ve only got two hours before Kimberley’s musical starts and I don’t want to miss a thing. I’m quite curious about it, I’ve never been to a musical before. And besides I can’t wait to see her again. I’ve been trying to figure out what she might like to do on our date but she hasn’t spilled a word. Smart girl this one, now I’ll have to use my imagination. Luckily Sarah lives close by and when I park my car in front of her house I can already see her staring through the window.
‘Hey Chez.’ She hugs me when I walk through the door.
‘Heya babe. It’s good to see you.’
‘So...’ Sarah starts after we sit down in the living room. ‘A little birdie told me someone is going all cultural these days.’
Faking a laugh I look at a grinning Sarah. ‘You should join me, it might do you some good.’
‘Hmm, it doesn’t sound that bad. I actually liked the sound of music. What’s this one about?’ She asks.
‘I don’t know, why don’t you come with then, see for yourself?’ I smile, hoping she’ll say yes.
‘Alright, I’ll come with. And don’t you worry, I’ll be like a ghost, in case you two want to make out afterwards or something.’
Laughing I shake my head. ‘We didn’t do that….yet. I’m taking her out tomorrow evening.’
‘Oh my god. I had no idea you liked her that much. Cheryl Tweedy on a date, now everything is possible.’ Sarah cheers. ‘Where are you taking her?’
‘I don’t know.’ I moan. ‘I actually hoped you could help me with that?’
‘Just think of something romantic. I can’t do that for you, what are going to tell your kids? Aunty Sarah told mummy what to do. Can’t have that, you need something good.’ She insists.
Taking a sip from my coffee I realise I have to give her that one. ‘I suppose. So let’s talk about Nadine shall we?’
‘Yes I’ve been thinking about it and I believe it’s best if we simply murder him.’ Sarah says, crossing her neck with her finger.
‘Hmm, we could poison him, ditch him somewhere, tell Nadine he left again. Sounds good to me. We could even make a musical about it. Kimberley can sing it for us.’
Joking about the various ways to end his life, we agree we’re both too pretty for jail so we’ll have to think of something else.
‘Seriously though. You know we only got two options.’ Sarah says to me. ‘You either talk to Will and convince him to leave her be, or we talk to Nadine. Nothing soft, I mean an actually intervention. I won’t mind if we’ll have to tie her down and keep her there for a week. Over my gorgeous dead body that he’s taking that girl with him.’
‘He won’t Sarah.’ I reach for her hand. ‘I’ll stop that plane if I’ll have to, he won’t take her.’
Gratefully she smiles at me. ‘So what’s the plan?’
‘Well, I know Will won’t listen to me and he might warn Nadine before we can get to her. So I believe it’s best if we go straight to her and we will not leave that house before she actually listens to us and dumps his sorry ass once and for all. Just think about what you want to say to her and I’ll do the same. I’ll give her a call saying I want to talk and I believe she wants to do that too. We’ll go in and tell her again and again about everything he has done to her. Hopefully she’ll remember it, because clearly she has become rather forgetful when it comes to Will. How does that sound?’
