Chapter 30

Kimberley’s POV

With a heavy frown on my face I make a turn, inwardly cursing the traffic for making me late.

Life must be kidding me right now. Kimberley Walsh, always on time for everything yet running 30 minutes late when I’m picking up my girlfriend.

Worst thing is that everything I’ve been doing these last two days revolved around welcoming her home properly.

And now I screw it up by making her wait.

Still mumbling I slam the car door as soon as I found a spot to park in. Something that also proved to be quite difficult. Apparently everybody is flying today…

With my nerves growing stronger I walk down the parking towards the airport entrance, my eyes scanning every corner as I have no idea where she’s waiting for my by now.

I don’t know why I’m that nervous all of the sudden but I guess I now realize how much I’ve missed her this past week. Occupying yourself with school, friends and those few short phone calls got my through it quite well.

But now seeing her again really gets to me… that is if…

Briefly stopping I squint my eyes to see if it’s her, sitting on a bench next to a long bearded man.

Soon smiling once I recognize the cap that’s currently hiding her face as she’s bent over slightly, absently fiddling with her Ipod.

I move in, my heart picking up as she turns her head into my direction… Quickly taking off her headphones as I take another step towards her.

‘Hiya!’

Cheryl jumps up when I open my arms wide, laughing loudly as she falls into me.

I hug her as tight as possible, rocking her from side to side as we stand there reunited.

‘Hmmm, I missed you so much.’

Her grip on my waist tightens at her words, and all I can do is keep holding her close.

‘I missed you too babe, I’m sorry I made you wait but…’

She cuts me off, her lips on mine.

Instantly making me melt my grips loosens, gently cupping her face as we share our little moment in front of a crowded airport.

‘Like a scene from a movie…’

I chuckle at the goofy face she pulls, kissing her once more before I step back.

Not letting go of her hand as I reach for her suitcase, ignoring the bewildered stare from the creepy beard guy.

‘Aah, it’s so good to be home again.’

Excitedly Cheryl passes me as we make our way towards our apartment block, which has no use since I’ve got her keys anyways.

‘Babe, hurry!’

Grinning I give her nudge, signalling she has to step aside in order for me to open up.

‘Now..’

I quickly block the entrance with one arm, resulting in two confused eyes following my every move as I step inside.

‘I’ve got a little welcome home surprise for you, so if you don’t mind.’

Not revealing anything I move behind her, putting my hand in front of her eyes.

‘Ooh, I like this already….’

Carefully I move her further into her apartment, stopping when we’re in the centre of her living room, Cheryl still oblivious on what’s to come.
