Lexi

"I'm really sorry about Kelsey," I said as soon as her dark red ponytail disappeared into the crowd of people.

"It's quite alright," Kyle smiled at me. Maybe Kelsey is right and he thinks I'm cute. Which is crazy, and I mean crazy.

"So, where are you guys from?" Woody asked.

"We're all from New York," I lied. The four of us were from different areas of the world.

"So, you could show us around?" Kyle asked a little too excitedly.

"Yeah, we totally could! Have you ever been to New York before?"

"No, this is actually our first time to the U.S."

"I can tell," I giggled. These guys were acting just like Kelsey. It was pretty obvious because they kept looking around at everything in amazement. They looked like they're were coming here for the first time.

"Is it that obvious?" Kyle laughed.

"Yes, it's almost as obvious as the fact that I'm at a music festival," I giggled.

"Well, great," Kyle rolled his eyes.

"No, it's not a bad thing!" I smiled. I had to catch myself from saying that it was cute, as much as I wanted to.

"Hey, I'm back!" Kelsey came running back up to us with Celeste and Rose in tow. "So, guys, this is Celeste and Rose. Girls, this is Dan, Kyle, Will, and Woody," Kelsey pointed to them as she introduced them.

"It's very nice to meet you," Celeste smiled, nodding in their directions. She dipped her head below their gazes, almost not meeting them in the eye.

"So, we hear you have a campsite?" Rose asked.

"Yes, we do," Will nodded. "You're welcome to use the empty spot next to us. I mean, if you still need one."

"We'd be happy to have it!" Celeste smiled.

"Well, follow us. We'll take you to our tent," Woody smiled and started walking, the three other guys following him. Dan took one last sneaking glance at Kelsey before he turned and hurried to catch up.

"Look at that, Kelsey!" Celeste elbowed her in the ribs. "That one dude is totally into you."

"No! He's not!" Her cheeks turned almost as red as her hair.

"Okay. Think what you want. I've been around long enough to know a thing or two about things."

Kelsey rolled her eyes as we followed the guys to their campsites.

"Where are we going to get a tent?" Celeste whispered quietly to Rose.

"Don't worry, I've got one," Rose winked, reaching into her bag and pulled out a tent, neatly rolled up in a carrying bag. It was like she had just bought it from the store, except without the packaging.

"What?" Celeste asked in total disbelief as she grabbed the tent and inspected it.

"I'm an ancient witch who's been alive for hundreds of years. What exactly did you expect?" Rose yanked the tent out of Celeste's hands, holding it close to her chest. It was like she was trying to protect her newborn child from the cruel world around us.

"Whatever," Celeste rolled her eyes.

"Here we are," Will said and pointed down at a large tent.

"Thanks!" Rose smiled and put our tent down in an empty patch of gravel and loose dirt.

The eight of us quickly set it up and went back to the stages. The entire way there, I was watching Dan look at Kelsey. It was blatantly obvious that he liked her. The only question was whether or not he'd actually make a move. I get the shy vibe from him. Also, would Kelsey even consider him? I mean, she's got that whole werewolf thing to worry about.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" Dan slowed down and caught up with me.

"Yeah, what's on your mind?" I raised my eyebrows at him.

"First off, Kyle totally thinks you're cute."

"Well, that was sudden!" I giggled.

"He doesn't want me to tell you, but I wanted you to know."

"No, it's all good because he's cute too."

"Well, it's perfect!" Dan smiled and laughed.

"You know who else is cute?" I blurted.

"Who?" Dan asked, a hint of worry in his voice.

"Kelsey."

"Yeah... She really is..." Dan agreed, nodding absentmindedly. "Is she single?"

"Yeah," I wriggled my eyebrows, smiling back at Dan.

He walked a little faster, catching up with Kelsey. I think they could really work out. They'd definitely be adorable together.

I hung back, watching over her. This was just natural for me at this point. This what I've done for years, and what I'll do for many, many years to come. Whether I have someone I love by my side helping me with my task, that's up to fate. But I hope and pray that Kelsey will find someone that understands who and what she is. She deserves someone genuine and real, someone who will love her unconditionally, with no judgement towards what she is.

She deserves someone like Dan. I smiled absentmindedly as I caught up with the other girls. We all were dancing and signing along to the music as we made our way back to the crowds.
