Lexi

I watched Kelsey talk to Kyle while they took down one side of his tent. I stayed silent while I watched them work.

"What do you think they're talking about?" Celeste asked.

"I don't even want to guess," Rose chuckled and shook her head.

"What do you think of them?" I asked.

"They're cool," Rose answered. "I have a feeling that they're going to have a good life."

"What do you mean?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I mean that something good will happen to them in the near future."

"Again, what's that supposed to mean?" I frowned. Why was she being so cryptic about this?

"Maybe we'll find out as we get to know them more," Celeste butted in. She knew Rose better than I did. Maybe Rose says this a lot when she meets new people. Does she have regular premonitions without her amulets?

We dropped the subject and continued on for a few minutes until we had the tent completely packed away. I gathered my things and slung my backpack over my shoulder.

"Kelsey! We're going to put our stuff in the car. You coming?" Rose called out.

"Oh, yeah!" Kelsey nodded and said something to Kyle before hurrying over to get her bag from our former campsite.

We walked in relative silence to the car. After our things had been secured in the trunk, we made our way back to where the guys were.

Kelsey stopped suddenly while we were walking through the crowds toward the campgrounds. I turned to ask her what was wrong, but her expression told me most of what I needed to know. She looked terrified. I couldn't see anything wrong around us, but Kelsey can sense the things that we can't see.

"Kelsey? What is it?" I walked over to her.

"Do you smell that?" Her voice was barely audible.

"What? I don't smell anything," I raised an eyebrow and tilted my head slightly. More color drained from her already pale face.

"Nothing. Go ahead, I'll catch up," Kelsey shook her head.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Go," she replied, looking sternly at me. I knew this was the signal that something dangerous could be lurking. I turned swiftly on one heel and grabbed Celeste and Rose by an arm and hurried off towards the guys. If something bad was coming, we needed to be around the most concentration of people so we could help.

"What was that?" Celeste asked as soon as Kelsey was out of sight.

"I don't know, she just gave me our signal that something bad could happen," I answered, looking over my shoulder to watch out for anything out of place.

"What do you think it is?"

"Nothing good. She doesn't act like this for nothing," I wracked my brain. I don't think it was Mason or Keenan. They're too impatient to not have attacked us by now. Maybe another wolf from the Pack? Or maybe a wolf from another pack altogether.

"Where's Kelsey?" Dan asked as we got back to our former campsite.

"She stopped to get something to drink. She'll be here soon," I replied before Celeste or Rose could say anything.

"Oh, okay," Dan nodded before turning back to his bag.

I stood there for a moment more, looking back over my shoulder and willing Kelsey to come running up to tell me it was a false alarm. But that didn't happen, of course. Nothing that good ever happens for me.

When I got tired of standing and watching for Kelsey, I dragged my feet over to a log and dropped myself down on it.

"Hey, we're about to go to the car. You coming?" Kyle asked.

"Nah, I'll wait here for Kelsey, you guys go on ahead. You, too, Celeste and Rose."

"You sure?" Rose looked genuinely worried. The memory of her vision drifted into my thoughts, sending waves of shivers down my spine. This couldn't be what she meant, could it?

"Yeah, I'm sure," I nodded, swallowing my worries.

"Okay, we'll see you in a few minutes," Celeste replied reluctantly before turning and walking away with the guys.

Suddenly, I was alone. Somehow, it was silent around me, even thought there were thousands of people scattered over the campsites surrounding our's. It was as if a little safety bubble had formed around me to shelter me from the potential dangers.

"Lexi!" Kelsey finally came running through the throngs of people around ten minutes later.

"Oh, thank god you're okay!" I sighed a breath or relief and stood up. "What happened?"

"Nothing. It was a lone wolf. He won't be a problem."

"Are you sure about that?" I shared Kelsey and Karena's worries about lone wolves reporting our whereabouts to Keenan and Mason. Or even spies. There might be a spy somewhere around here watching us.

"Yeah, I don't think he'll report us."

"Okay, whatever you say," I tried to sound convinced, but I'd be lying if I said I was. I don't think we're in the clear just yet. I'll believe it when we don't get attacked.

"Just forget about it okay? Rose and Celeste don't need to know about this, just tell them I thought I smelt something, but I really didn't."

"Okay, fine," I nodded. "Well, they're waiting for us in the car."

"Why should we keep them waiting?" Kelsey grinned and linked her arm with mine and led me away.
