I rushed writing this, so please don't call out my typos (if any). I need to proof read but I can't right now *awkward smile*

"How would you feel about visiting my sister?"
I gazed to Allany, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion. It was nine o'clock in the evening and Allany and I were the only ones inhabiting Hut 8; everyone else had gone for a drink, abandoning us and all the things around in an eerie nighttime stillness.
"Well, this is sudden," I said, taken aback. "What do I owe the pleasure?"
"You don't. I owe you."
I was still puzzled. Allany did like to drag things out. "Whatever for?"
Allany let out an exasperated sigh as she rolled her eyes. "For letting me stay with you and your parents those few weeks ago, obviously!"
"Oh, right," I now finally understood what she was on about. "You don't have to owe me anything. I was simply trying to help you over your emotional trauma with a gesture of kindness."
"And I'm very grateful for that. But... Well, this is my gesture of kindness."
"In that case, I'd rather like to visit your sister," I smiled reassuringly, giving my approval.
"Fantastic," she beamed brightly. It was only then that the bruise on Allany's jaw (from when Hugh had taken a swing at her, which was only two days previous) was evident. It was a pale purple colour and just about turning green- a sign it was healing.
"Johanna will love meeting you, Kester," she continued. "Oh, and she has a husband, too, and his name is Theodore. We just call him Teddy. He's lovely."
"Sounds wonderful-"
"He's into poetry as well," Allany added enthusiastically. I smiled slightly as she spoke as I could hear the apprehension in her voice and see it in her body language. She obviously hadn't seen her sister and brother-in-law in a good while (probably not since she began working at Bletchley).
"We'll get along very well, I think," I reassured her in an honest way. I was rather looking forward to meeting Johanna and Teddy. From what I've heard in the past, Johanna was a fantastic woman and her husband was incredibly similar. It would definitely be a trip to remember...

The time soon came when Allany and I would depart Bletchley and head for London to visit her sister. Johanna was apparently, and to quote: 'very nice, caring and compassionate.'
I had been a bit nervous as time led up to this moment. I was that awkward house guest sort-of person and most of the time, things didn't pan out so well. I would normally sit in silence feeling bad just for being there.
"So, what am I really coming with you for?" I asked Allany, as we left Bletchley Park and headed towards the train station.
"Well, I got into a conversation with Johanna about work and I was telling her-" she began, but I cut her off.
"You mean you told her about our code-breaking and about Bletchley Park?"
"No, of course not!"
"Oh, that's good."
