Song: 15 Fathoms and Counting

My eyes sprung open. It was still dark out. I rolled over and checked my phone. 7:32 am. I sighed. I wished for once in my life my eternal alarm clock would have let me sleep in just a little longer. I flipped the covers off and shuffled out of bed. I wandered into the kitchen, looking for something to eat. I finally found a cupboard of cereal and found my favorite, Reece's Puffs. Another tip from my mother I guessed. I found a bowl and poured some in. I added milk and started chowing down.

As I ate, I thought about the events of last night. My aunt and Cassie were right. I was being dramatic and I needed to let this whole Tyler situation go. It wasn't healthy for me to keep holding onto him, even if it was just a small part. I knew he would never change. I munched my cereal as my aunt wandered in.

"Morning, dear. I would have made you breakfast," she said, getting down two mugs. "Tea?" I nodded, and she began preparing the kettle once more.

"It's okay. I am 23, so I do know how to feed myself," I said, smiling. She sat down at the table and began reading the morning paper.

"Why are you up this early? I didn't wake you, did I?" I asked.

"No, my dear, I have a nightmarish eternal alarm clock that wakes me up around 5:30 every day," she said.

"I have one, too. Mine doesn't go off that early, though," I said. I got up from the table and washed out my bowl and set it in the sink. The kettle went off, and I turned it off and set it off the burner.

"Where's the tea? I'll get you some since you got the water ready," I offered. She pointed to a cupboard directly in front of me, so I opened it and gasped. There were hundreds of boxes of tea in all kinds of flavors.

"Wow!" I said. I had never seen that much tea in my whole life.

My aunt chuckled. "You could say that I collect tea. It's really all I drink," she said. "Pick any flavor for yourself, but I would like mint again. I'm on a kick," she said. I pulled out the small box of mint and stuck a tea bag in her mug, then finally decided on raspberry for myself. I poured the scalding water in the mugs and set them on the table.

"So, what is Oliver taking you to for your date?" she asked, blowing slightly on her tea.

"Uhm, I'm not really sure. I didn't ask," I said. I was curious to where he was taking me today. "I think I'm going to get ready now, and actually dress up," I said. Marci smiled her agreement. I walked back into my room quietly, Cassie still being sound asleep. That woman could sleep forever.

I pulled a simple flowered skirt out of my drawer, and I found a blue tank to match the blues in the skirt. I decided to put a blouse over the tank so I wasn't so exposed. I grabbed my black flats and almost grabbed my tights, be I decided against it. I grabbed my phone and mug and took them both into the bathroom.

Where are you taking me today? I sent a message to Oli. I figured he would still be sleeping, so I turned on my music as I started to get undressed. I threw my dirty clothes in the hamper and turned on the shower. I grabbed my razor. It had only been a few days since I shaved, but I wanted to look super nice today.

I washed my hair as I listened to my music wrap around me.

I kissed the scars on her skin.

I still think you're beautiful, and I don't ever wanna lose my best friend.

I lathered up my legs and started shaving the fine stubble off, when I heard the door open.
