"Let me hold him!" Sunny chuckles, taking Caleb out of my arms securely and bouncing him up and down, "Not like you really had much of a choice,"

"His aunt deserves a hold," I smile graciously and watch him be entertained by Sunny, "Where is Jeremy?"

"Hunting," She mumbles absentmindedly, staring into Caleb's captivating eyes, "He'll be back soon,"

"I think it's really great that you have found someone," I smile warmly towards her, "And it's a shame you couldn't have kids, because you'd be a great mother,"

"I can," She smiles towards me as confusion spreads across my face. She sounds like she is tired of saying the same things over and over, "My power remember? As human as possible? Includes having children. I'm really just a human that can change their eye colour and lives forever," She chuckles, finally breaking her gaze from Caleb, "And I drink blood. I swear I've told you all of this before?"

"Yo- you have. I just forgot,"

"I get it," She absentmindedly chuckles, "I forget myself sometimes,"

"How could you forget something like that?"

"Well, I don't feel human," She mutters bitterly, "I don't feel alive at all,"

"I'm-"

"Whenever I meet new vampires and they see me with blue or green eyes, they're jealous of me, that I seem human. But it just makes me upset and devastated, because I'd rather be like Rose, completely different to a human, not so close to being one that you almost think that if you try hard enough you will. But I won't. Ever, so I'm so close but so far,"

"I didn't-"

"Sorry, I didn't meant to go out on you like that,"

"No, don't apologize, I suppose I get where you're coming from," I mumble as she sighs, "It's not empathy, just sympathy,"

"Thanks,"

"You know how you said when you 'meet new vampires?' Who did you mean?"

"I was in town and noticed someone that had red eyes but brown contacts in and pale white skin, unmistakably a vampire and I went up to ask them where they were from,"

"Who was it?"

"I don't know," She shrugs, "It was a girl with dark hair, and looked about 24-25,"

"I don't know any dark haired, female vampires in this area," I ponder on my thoughts, who could it be? "I'll ask mom and dad if they know of anyone,"

"Good idea,"

The glass front door swings wide open and in walk Jake and Seth, both heading straight towards Sunny and Caleb, "Hey little man! How are you?" Jake coos, sweeping Caleb out of his Aunt's arms and into his, "Had a good day?"

"Jake, have you seen my parents?"

"I think I saw your dad upstairs through the window when we drove in," He smiles, walking over and pressing his lips to mine so quickly, if you blinked or weren't paying attention you would have missed it,

"Thank you,"

"Why do you want to find your parents?"

"I just need to... ask them something," I grin reassuringly, "Don't worry,"

My footsteps echo throughout the spacious house as I step up the stairs one at a time, until I get to the very top floor, scanning my eyes across the room and finding mom and Layla on the couch, reading a book quietly together, and dad at the piano, playing so softly it would be impossible for a human to hear, "Mom, Dad,"

"Renesmee? What's wrong?"

"Nothing... I think," I swallow the un-necessary lump in my throat and force the words out, "Do you know any dark haired vampire around here?"

"Girl or boy?" Mom asks, flicking her eyes to my dad, and back to me; worry being masked as easily as someone breathing,

"A girl, around 24-25 years old,"

"In Forks?"

"Yes," I nod, "Sunny saw her the other day when she was in town,"

"I don't know of one, no," Mom sighs, standing up and joining me, "Can you think of anyone Edward?"

"Not someone that's been around for a while... Maybe someone was Turned?"

"It's a possibility,"

"Sunny, said she had brown contacts in, but when you had a detailed eye like a vampire, you could see they were red,"

"A newborn or someone not familiar with Carlisle and our clan,"

"Should we try to find her?"

"You stay with Jake here and we'll go and look around the city,"

"Are you sure you don't want me to come?"

"What if someone see's mom? Or you? You haven't aged for 7 years,"

"Most of the people from school have left this town anyhow," Dad chuckles to himself,

"We'll take Sunny and that's it, if she is a newborn, a whole bunch of vampires coming to find her might be intimidating, the 3 of us should be fine. Just stay here with Jacob and the kids,"

I nod as they walk past me, Layla still sitting on the couch with a perplaced look on her face, "What's going on momma?"

"Nothing that you need to worry about sweetheart," I smile, picking her up and kissing her cheek, "Just adult stuff,"

"It's always adult stuff," She huffs, tucking her head into my neck.
