Happy Place - Chapter 11

When we get home, Jake runs through the door, both of us laughing. I wasn't expecting anyone to be in the little lounge room, near the back door, but Rose was and she was the last person that wanted to see us like this. All cuddled up and me being in love with what she would call a dog, it was extremely awkward and no one said anything for about 2 minutes. Longest two minutes of my life.

"Well, I thought you'd never be back Nessie, I swear they were about to send out a search party," she says, Jake rolls his eyes and I nudge him in his ribs,

"No, I was fine, besides its only like 5 isn't it?" I look at the clock and I am surprised to see that it's 6,

"Oh wow, is Grandma home?"

Aunty Rose laughs,

"No, Esme, Carlisle, Alice, Jasper and your parents went hunting with Sunshine to show her our ways, so it's just Emmett and I here,"

Jacob sniggers and says "Where's Emmett?"

"Jacob! Shoosh, don't be rude," I hissed at him, being right near his ear, I didn't have to say it very loudly,

"He's watching the game upstairs, and I'm not interested so I came down here to read," Rose answered, I'm surprised she even answered to him, usually she just scowls at him until he leaves. I suppose she is being nice for my sake, I guess.

"Well, We will be in my room, and If you need me, call out," I say with a smile to lighten the mood, because, like I thought, it's turned into a staring competition, not the fun one.

"Jake ease up," I said to him quietly and squirmed out of his arms, on to my own two feet. I placed my hands on his shoulders and nudge him back towards the stairs,

We walk past Uncle Emmett, watching the game, as always, he's screaming at the T.V. He turns around and acknowledges us and then goes back to the game. I run up to my room, Jake following close behind.

"Come on then," I say with my hand extended.

"Come on what?" He asks, confusion spreading across his face,

"The photos?" He laughs and tosses me the phone. He comes over to my bed and lies down next to me,

"That one is personally my favourite," He says, looking at me. It was of me tucking my hair behind my ear and looking at the camera, it really wasn't one of my favourites,

"What, this one? I didn't even know you took that one, I was literally just tucking my hair behind my ear and looking at you," I say looking away from the picture and up at him

"You didn't look like you were taking a photo," I say and he laughs,

"I'm multi talented, and great at-" he declares and I just cut him off

"Yeah, yeah righto, of course you are," I flick through the rest of the photos

"I like this one, I'm actually smiling," I'm just sitting in a tree, the wind in my hair and I have a huge smile on my face.

"Yeah, I like this one too, ha, who am I kidding, I love them all," He presses me against him so he can kiss my cheek, "I love them all and I love you," It's me who kisses him this time. It intensified pretty quickly and a wave of heat flowed through my body right to the tips of my toes. This is my happy place, no mind reader, no emotion controller or not so many vampires downstairs. Just Jake and I. He picked up my sudden change in passion and threw me on the bed.
