Girls Day - Chapter 13

"We are going to take you on a girls day," Aunt Alice squealed. Great a shopping day.

"You, Your mom, Sunny, Rose, Esme and I!"

Esme starts to detest against it, but Alice chirps in "Nessie needs us so you are coming," I roll my eyes,

"I'm fine, if she doesn't want to come she doesn't have to. I've lived 8 years without him being there 24/7 so I think I"ll survive," I look at Esme and she mouths a 'thank you' Alice seems annoyed,

"Well, I guess it's just you, your momma, Rose, Sunny and I then," I choose just to be enthusiastic so it might be over sooner, My dad muffles a laugh and I shoot him a warning look.

"Great! Can't wait, when are we going?" I say still staring at my dad. I used to be into the make over and shopping trips but now, I'm more like my mother and like plain and simple things.

"We can go now! Everyone ready?"

"Which mall do you want to go to?" I shrug my shoulders. I already miss Jake.

"The local one?" I suggest as she speeds down the highway. Alice nods and goes on about something. I decide to use this time to get to know Sunny.

"How old are you Sunny?" She looks at me, surprised I even spoke to her,

"Oh, I was supposed to turn 18 a few days after I got turned into a vampire," Hah, she looks older, "Why? How old are you?" I turn back to her and answer,

"I'm mentally and physically 16, but I'm actually only 8 years old, but I am 16," She looks a bit surprised,

"How old is your boyfriend?" This is always the awkward part, how old is he? Like 24 or something?

"He is frozen in a 17 year olds body while he is a werewolf but he actually is something like 24," I feel a blush rise to my cheeks,

"But we are both effectively the same age, mentally and physically so, I don't find it that bad," She nods in agreement,

"Nah it's okay, I actually thought you were 16. So how often do you grow up mentally?" That's a surprising question, I've never really taken notice of it but luckily my mum has,

"It's not really routine, she just grows, but when she's 17, she stops ageing," What? I knew I would eventually stop ageing but at 17? That's in a couple of months, maybe even sooner!

"Oh so you turn into a full vampire? I'm sort of confused with this whole half vampire thing," I sigh,

"No, I just stop ageing, I will still have a heartbeat, and regular human things like that, I just stop growing, kind of like you," She laughs and then responds by changing her eye colour.

"But I won't be able to do that," I look at Mom, who is sitting on the other side of Sunny and she looks at me, Wow! Her eyes have turned the same colour as Sunny's!

"Woah, mom, your eyes and the same colour as Sunny's!"

Sunny laughs and smacks her thigh with her hand,

"Oops, anyone I'm touching, when I change something, they get changed too," okay, I've never seen my mom with normal colour eyes, only ever red, black or gold, and now it's really weird to see her, she actually looks like a human!

"Okay, no more talking about vampires, we are here," Alice chuckles and we all mutter something of an agreement.

Alice grabs my hand and drags me towards the entrance. My phone buzzes in my back pocket. I pull my hand away and grab it, I look at the message, its from Jake.

Won't be home by 6, sorry. Go to bed if I'm not there and I'll come in, if I don't, I'll see you in the morning. Love you. Jake x

No! I want him home sooner! Oh well, mom had to go through worse so I just need to suck it up.

"It's okay Ness, he'll be home soon, It's only one day," My mom said putting her arm around my shoulders.

"Come on! Enough moping! Let's go shopping!" She drags me and my mom towards a shop, Sunny and Rose are already heading to the shop. This is going to be a long day without my Jake.
