Chapter 18 - Stuck

" wait what do you mean?" I dropped everything I was doing and hurried our the little shop

All we needed was something else to be wrong right now just as things were going okay.

I flung my stuff into my locker and hurried out the little shop. As I walked out I seen James already parked up outside, I jumped into the car and he sped off.

" what's going on is he okay?" I said breathlessly

" We're not sure, one second he was fine and joking on then the next he was blue in the face and couldn't get his breath" James said the worry clear on his face

" where is he now?" I asked. " Jai and Sasha have took him to the hospital and everyone else is on their way now. I thought I'd pick you up"

He grabbed my hand comfortingly. " he's going to be okay isn't he?" The tears spilled down my cheeks
" hey don't cry, I'm sure he will be fine please don't cry"

I nodded and watched out the window, time seemed to be going really slow.
" how far away is the hospital from here?" I turned to James

" about 15 minutes he said" just as the car cut off

" fuck!" He smashed his hands down onto the steering wheel

" we need petrol" he said his anger filling by the second

" okay il walk to the petrol station round the corner and fill up the spare tank in the boot" I was trying to stay calm

Just as I opened the car door he pulled me back shutting it behind me

" Beth it's fucking freezing outside and your only wearing a little jacket, plus I'm not gonna let you walk in the cold by yourself, il go" he said grabbing his wallet

He pressed his lips to mine, pulled his hood up and left, and as I watched him disappear round the corner my mind was twisting over what was happening to one of my best friends.
