Lolita's POV
The last couple of days was stressful. We finally got all of our furniture in and organized which was fun but mostly tiring. I'm starting college this Monday, I will be going to University of Seattle. It should only take about to years for me to get my certificate as a Vet-Tech. I'm pretty nervous but I'm more excited. I have to get used to change, but I think college will be a good one. Ever since I was little I have always wanted to work with dogs and animals. I go very deep into thought when I'm laying on my bed with Oreo snuggling next to me but I don't want to disturb her.
My room is all set now, on my bed is now my favorite comforter and sheets with doggie paws all over them. I just bought it a couple of weeks before we moved to Seattle. I also bought myself a light blue canopy for my bed to make it look more pretty. On the right side of my room is my closet, and next to that is my dresser with more clothes. Right in front of my bed which is in the center of my room is my T.V. I am in love with my new room. Every now and then I still get pretty sad when I think about our old house but my mom needed this job. It's more money for us so we couldn't not take that opportunity, especally since I was able to graduate high school early.
"Lolita, have you taken you're dog for a walk today?" I heard my mom ask from downstairs.
"No mom, is it still raining?"
"It stopped, it's actually suuny out. Take you're dog for a walk I'm sure she needs to pee." I sighed, getting up slowley so I wouldn't feel dizzy. I put my slip ons on and waited for Oreo to stretch and jump off my bed.
"Come on baby ready to go for a walk?" I asked. Bad mistake. Whenever I say the word "walk" Oreo freaks out and starts dancing around like a pshycopath. I laughed and went downstairs, into our sun room where her leash usually is. Once I got it, I had to struggle to put it on her collar. It takes me at least two minutes to do it because Oreo always teases me and keeps running away as if she didn't want to go for a walk. Yeah right.
"Be careful okay? Don't be gone for too long." Said my dad, who is at the kitchen table reading the news paper and eating chex mix.
"Don't worry dad I won't be that long." I opened the door, bracing my self for Oreo's strong pull like always. I always start on our street, which is Alton Avenue. After a few more steps I let Oreo take a breather so she could do her business. When I looked up from her, I saw a guy walking towards us, looking disheveled. He had dirty blonde hair right up to his shoulders and he had beautiful brown eyes, with ripped shorts and flip flops and a shirt that had bill-a-bong's name on it. He is exactly my kind of type.
"You new here?" Surfer boy asked.
"Yeah I just moved in with my family a couple of days ago." I said, trying hard not to blush. I didn't want to make him think that I was some kind of new weirdo.
"I'm Jake." I smiled, biting on my lip.
"I'm Lolita." Jake whistled, making me giggle like a five year old. There was no way I was good enough for this guy.
"I don't know anyone with that name, it sounds so pretty." Butterflies started forming in my stomach. Crap, I've only known Jake for about two minutes and already I can feel myself falling for him.
"Thanks." I said, giving him what I hoped to be a pretty smile.
"Since your new here one day I'll show you around. You can obviously bring you're dog, shes beautiful. What's her name?" Asked Jake.
"Oreo. She's part bordercollie and lab."
"That explains why she's so hyper. Come here girl." I let Oreo walk over to him very carefully not knowing what she's going to do.
"You like dogs?" I asked.
"Love them to death, I never got to have one though."
"Why?" I asked, not knowing how he survived without a dog in his home.
"My mom is allergic to dogs." Jake explained.
"Do you live on this street too?" I asked, hoping I didn't sound like a idiot.
"I live a couple houses down from you. Yours is that one right?" He asked pointing to my house with the window blinds.
"Yep that one is mine."
"You still in High School?"
"I just graduated. My grades were good enough to get out a half a year earlier."
"Awesome. I graduated from High School last year. Do you know where your going to College?"
"Yeah I'm going to University of Seattle, on Monday." Was he flirting with me?
"That's where I go, I'm halfway through my first year." I took my phone out of my pocket and looked at the time. We've been talking for almost twenty minutes. I didn't want to stop but I knew I had to start heading home, I don't want my parents getting worried.
"What's wrong?" Jake asked, sounding concerned.
"Nothing I just should be getting back home. I told my mom that I wouldn't be long."
"No biggie, I'll walk home with you then."
"Really? You don't have to do that." I said, trying not to smile like a idiot.
"I know, but I want to. As long as it's okay with you." That made me smile. I couldn't resist not smiling with this hot guy using his time to talk to me.
"It's more then alright with me."
"So how old Is Oreo?" Asked Jake as I started pulling her away from the grass.
"She is a year in a half."
"Wow she's still a baby then." We were turning on to Alton Avenue and we finally came at my house. I felt myself getting sad knowing I won't be seeing him, for who knows how long.
"Yes she is."
"Hey can I have you're number so we can plan out on when you'd want me to show you around?" I could not believe this was happening.
"Yeah of course." I gave him my number and he put it in his phone.
"Call or text?"
"Call is fine." I said, grinning at him. He gave me a hug and walked back to his house leaving me, staring at him. He gives good hugs. I went inside, and unclipped Oreo's leash off of her collar.
"What took you so long? Jeez." Said my mom, making me blush all over again. I told my mom what happened and she squealed. Hence that is where I got the squeakyness from.
"Oh my Gosh, I can't believe it! Honey, from what you described him as he sounds exactly l,ike your type."
"I know right?! But I'm sure nothing is going to happen."
