Megan's POV
Who does this girl think she is? Just because she's tall and blonde she thinks she can get any guy that she wants? Well in my world that's not how it work.
"So Herbie aren't you going to introduce me to you're friends?". Jackie asked batting her eyelashes at jake. This little slut!!
"Of course, how rude of me. Jackie, these are my friends Megan and Jake." I have to admit I give jake credit on how Jake is handling this situation.
"It's nice meeting you Jackie, but Im new here and Megan is showing me around so we've really got to go." Jake said politely as he pulls me away from the two of them. But Jackie wasn't having it.
"I've been around here as much as she has, ill show you around. Don't worry Megan, you can hangout with Herbie.". I'm starting to get this nasty feeling that this whole thing is a set up.
"You kids have fun.". Said Herbie as Jake and Jackie walked away. I turned to look at him and made my glare as mean as possible.
"What?". He asked all innocent.
"Who's you're girlfriend?". He came back with a comeback right away though, he always does.
"Who's you're boyfriend?". I smirked at him before answering him.
"I asked you first." The fact that I came up with that comeback pretty quickly I was very proud of myself so I tried hard to stay serious and not smile. It took him a few minutes to answer which made me feel even more proud.
"Megan, Jackie is my cousin. She comes down here with her family every spring so she's pretty familiar with this place. I asked her to drag Jake away so I could be alone with you.". At this point I was really tempted to walk to my car and go home I was so pissed. But then I felt myself soften thinking it was kind of cute that he thought all if this set up on his own just so he can spend some time with me.
"I answered yours so now it's you're turn.". He winked at me and I burst out laughing.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry that wink was just hilarious!!". I gasped as I put my hand on my stomach. Jake started laughing too and we began walking towards the beach.
"If I asked you to kiss me what would you say?". I sighed looking out towards the ocean.
"Herbie, I still haven't decided if I want to take you back yet..."
"Well maybe this will help you make you're decision.". Herbie put his hands through my hair and pulled me close to him. His lips were soft and gentle, his breath smelt faint of mint gum and I moaned quietly as he moved his hands closer to my breasts.
"Herbie were not going that far today.". I told him sternly and he sighed and took his hands off me.
"Okay, ill wait. So did you like the kiss?"
"What's going on Megan?". I heard Jake say and turned around. I gasped in horror when I saw him standing right across from us on the beach.
"Jake...Listen I can explain.". I got up and Herbie followed me. As we walked closer to Jake I could see he was trying not to cry.
"You don't have to explain anything. I should have known you liked Herbie. I saw the way you looked at him when e was with Jackie. You know what? I'll find another ride home don't bother.".
"Jake wait!" I screamed, trying to keep an eye on him as he started to disappear in the crowd. I never meant for this to happen, I like Herbie a lot but I also don't want to lose Jake as a friend. Or is my feelings the other way around? Ugh!! I'm rarely confused so this frustrates me. I begin to cry because I'm lost and I have no idea where I'm going. I forgot where I parked my car and I don't know if Herbie is even following me anymore. I decide to sit on the bench and take a breather. I put my head between my knees and breathe deeply in and out. I've never been in this kind of situation before. I had no idea Jake liked me but that look on his face when he saw me told me everything.
"Megan come here.". I looks up to see Herbie with his arms out to me and I put my head on his chest sobbing.
